Q: Are there any universities that have non-proft management degrees?
I am looking to go back to school online for a human services or non-profit management degree.
A: why wouln't u go look it up?
Q: Business Administration and Business Management Degrees?
I believe I would like to do something business related and have chosen a business administration major. I am just wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what I can do with this degree or a business management degree. What kind of jobs would be compatible with these degrees? I would just like to know all my career options so I can decide if this is a major I would like to stick with. Thanks in advance.
A: I have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. My advice to you is to get out now. Pick something else - I wish I would have done so when people advised me to in college. I graduated in May and haven't found a job yet. Maybe you'll luck out and by the time you graduate they'll need more people. But right now, it sucks.
Q: What is the difference between Organizational Development and Business Management degrees?
A: Organizational Development degree is more aimed towards an Human Resource role of managing the continuous improvement and education of its employees. Business Management is more managing the day to day activities (non-HR related).
Q: How good are project management degrees in China and are they really expensive?
A: Yes, education is always expensive.
But it's worth it!
Q: What types of jobs are available for people with degrees in Health Management?
I'm an RN with an Associates degree. I'm thinking about going back for my Bachelors degree in Health Management and then possibly my Masters. Has anyone else out there gone this route and is it possible to move into hospital management this way without going back for my BSN?
A: no way possible no... admin at a nursing home maybe
Q: good Post Graduate Degrees in Human Resources Management in Australia to follow?
One friend of mine has asked me to find a good Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources Management to follow in Australia. This is for his daughter who has done a Bachelor of Commerce Degree. What are the best universities and the degrees? I am clueless and any help would be appreciated much.
A: G'day,
Some may argue that the Australian universities belongs to The Group of 8 (www.go8.edu.au) are the 'famous' one. However they group was formed just to unify the promotional effort. The members cannot claim that they are the best at everything that they offers.
There are only 42 (soon to be 43) universities in Australia, all of them are fully accredited and they are tightly regulated, therefore the quality and recognition of their graduates are equal from wherever university you are studying from. The most important thing is you have to READ the course information carefully, since some courses may have the same name but different content.
There are quite alot of Australian universities offering Post Grad degree in Human Resource Management courses to international students. To find out the course that she is interested in taking and where it is offered, I suggest you to go to Dept of Education, Science and Technology (http://cricos.dest.gov.au) and IDP Education Australia website (www.idp.edu.au). IDP is an organisation that gives information to international students who wants to continue their study in Australia. The information abt fees & requirements can be found in the university's website. Please make sure that you access the information for internationals students, since some requirements, application form and fees are different than Australians'.
Once decided on the uni, fill in the application form and send it together with certified copy of your academic qualification. Depending on your country of origin, you may also need to submit an IELTS test results for proof of your English proficiency (www.ielts.org)
Living cost... Sydney and Canberra have the highest living cost, followed by Melbourne & Brisbane, then Perth, Darwin, Adelaide & Tasmania the lowest. I am attaching a weblink from one of the uni in Melbourne as an indication.
So with many options for your to choose, this is my suggestion to narrow down your choice:
1. Choose the city you want to study in. The consideration maybe the lifestyle, living cost and weather.
Hope this helps. Good luck for your study and welcome to Australia :)
Q: Is it possible to break into healthcare management if your degrees are in Psychology & Counseling?
I have a M.S. in Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology. I really want to break into either healthcare management or human resources. Any advice?
A: i think HR would be great for you. If you go into Human resources you can still use your counseling skills such as handling a harrassment case, and you can use your psychology skills in that you'd be understanding to what the person is saying and feeling and more apt to resolving the issue quickly.
Q: Are associate degrees in management worth it?
Are there any decent jobs you can get with an associate degree in management?
A: Yea it's worth it. You won't be able to get a great job but still better than if you didn't have a degree at all. I got mine and got a job in my field and continued going to school while working. That way you gain experience and finish school at the same time. I came close to getting burned out though.
Q: Should I pursue a degree in healthcare management or marketing? which of these two degrees pay out more? help?
I'm a college junior who's undecided between pursuing a degree in marketing or one in health care management? which of these two would you would say pay out more in the professional world?
A: 1) Employers are more interested in what you can do than what your major is.
2) It might seem that healthcare management would limit you to one industry (probably not, once you have experience) but that industry is expected to grow exponentially as the American baby boom (and others around the world) move into retirement years. Most people run up most of their healthcare bills in the last year of their life, so that field will boom over the next couple of decades.
3) See if you can get an informational interview with a hospital or nursing home administrator. They might prefer to answer a few questions by e-mail instead of scheduling an appointment. You'll want to ask:
What do you like about this job?
What surprised you most about this line of work?
What courses in school have you found most useful?
What courses do you wish you had taken?
What did you learn on the job that they don't teach in school?
What are the salary trends like in the industry?
Is there a career path you sometimes wish you had taken?
Be open to asking follow-up questions as well.
Good luck!
Q: What jobs require business management degrees?
A: I don't think any jobs really require it, but having a degree in that field will open more doors than any other degree. I know banks will only take BM degree although they're technically supposed to take any major.
Q: Best UK Universities For Business Management/Entrepreneurship Degrees?
I'm looking to do a business management/entreprenuership degree at university in about a year and a half's time, but I am unsure about which ones I should take a look at as so many uni's offer business courses. I'm a standard A-Level student (Predicted A's and B's), which rules out the elite, and I don't want to be more than a couple of hours from home (live in Leicestershire), which rules out Scotland, Wales and anything below London.
So, any recommendations?
A: I answered a similar question a few days back so i'll post the same response for you:
The best business schools in Europe are (i've only included the UK ones and listed their rankings:
3. London Business School
4. Warwick Business School, Coventry (GB)
6. University of Oxford – Said Business School
7. Cass Business School, London
9. Manchester Business School
11. Judge Institute of Management, University of Cambridge
13. University of Bath (GB)
14. Henley Management College, London
15. Cranfield (GB)
19. Ashridge (GB)
21. ESCP-EAP European School of Management (Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid)
25. University of Glasgow Business School
Q: i am thinking about doing a business management degrees can anyone tell me how much money is in this major?
and what kind of jobs do u get offered?
A: Hi. It's admirable that you want to go to college, and I totally support your decision. However, a lot of people go to college with the mindset that they are going to make X amount of money in return for getting a degree. There is no guarantee that you will get a job after college, much less a job making a certain salary. Go to college because you want to learn about something. (On the flip side, if you don't get a degree, it's almost for sure that you won't get very far in business management. Many larger companies require their company's leaders to have an education--even if it's a B.S. in Biology.) Bottom line is that you will succeed because you have a passion for success, not because you have a specific degree.
Q: Any people out there with bachelors degrees in Business Management or Administration?Any Finance majors? Info?
I am thinking about Business Management as my major. I would like to know what are the specific jobs out there for this major and what is the average pay for someone with a bachelors degree in Business Management? Do you all think this is a good major? What is the job availability? Also, What can I do with a major in Finance? What are the specific jobs for this major, the average pay, and the job availability? Is this a good and lucrative major? Has anyone had a double major in Business Administration and Finance? If so, could I get some feedback? Maybe on the schooling and if it was hard? Any challenging subjects such as in math-statistics,etc.?
A: While I do have a degree in Business Admin, I think that rather then you taking my word for it you can go to your local library and look at the Occupational Outlook Handbook. You can look up any job and it will answer all of your questions.
Another suggestion, if you have an idea of what you would like to do, where you would like to work or know of a person in a position that you admire. Speak directly to that person/company. 9 times out of 10 they will be more than happy to offer suggests as to what you can do to become more marketable.
Good luck
Q: i have a degree in nutrition and in management.. what companies should i look into working for?
The management degree relates to restaurants, hotels and institutions (such as schools, jails, hospitals). Both of the degrees will be from Penn State University and they will both be bachelor's. Where should I look to work where I can make use of both of these degrees and earn a good salary? I already know about Aramark and Sodexho as possibilities, but any other suggestions would be great! Thanks.
A: Look at the following companies;
The Big 4;
Sodexho
Aramark
Chartwells
Compass Group
The above 4 companies probably have a 50% share or more in the Major US Foodservice industry when it comes to Hospitals, Campuses, Schools, Private institutions and the large corporate sector.
Sodexho is Based out of VA, but they have a local office in Allentown, PA which is always accepting applications, big turnover in the industry, and the pay is ok overall.
Joseph
Director of Retail Operations
Sodexho
Q: What is a business management degree? Can you explain that to me?
I'm planning to start a home based business soon, and I recently looked into going to a local community college for the two-year business management degree futher on. So please, if you don't mind, explain the purpose of it. If I already have a home business running later, is it necessary for me to have that degree? I'll be waiting for your answers! Thanks!
A: As to whether it is necessary to have the degree, the answer is no. The only time it is truly necessary to have a degree is when you wish to be hired by an existing company that requires a degree, or when you wish to be credentialed for for some practice that requires a degree, such as medicine or engineering.
The things you should get from the degree include business computing skills, business communication, a bit of human resources, possibly a good internship, and maybe some other things like marketing and job seeking skills. I would get ahold of their catalog and read the course description for every course in the curriculum. If the descriptions sound like things that could be useful to you then you might give it a shot.
Alternatively, you might just take only the classes you're most interested in. It's likely that the community college offers a one year certificate with many of the same courses, so you might think of doing that instead.
I will offer one caveat - what if your plan doesn't work out and you decide you'd be better off with a bachelors or masters degree, like an MBA or MBF? The problem with the degree you're considering is that it is probably not a good choice should you decide to try to transfer. If you think you may eventually be interested in a four year degree or beyond, you might look into your community college's general studies curriculum. Also, check out to see whether this college has a career center. Those folks should be able to help you out. If not, speak to an advisor from the business program.
Good luck!
