Q: Flight school while earning a degree?
Im looking for a flight school where you can also earn your degree such as embry riddle or arizona state university east mesa school... only problem is that these schools want you to pay usually around an extra 30 grand on top of your intuition which is around 20 grand... so basically your looking at paying anywhere between 50-100 grand with everything.... What is a good school that has a very good price on both tuition and costs for flight school that doesnt make you want to consider joining the army instead becuase of the high costs? Also one more question... is helicopter flight schools usually the same price range vs fixed wing flight school + degree ?

A: check out atpflightschool.com. you can learn to fly and they have a connection with utah valley i believe and you can get your degree online.

Q: do i need a high school degree to become a pilot?

A: no the only thing you need is an 8th grade level math and thats it

Q: Is it possible to get into grad school with a Nationally Accredited School Degree?
I have a college degree from a nationally accredited school, is it still possible to get into a graduate school (a good one) with this degree and high GRE/GMAT scores? The school is Westwood College, it is a candidate for regionally accreditation, so in a few years they might actually get regionally accredited title.

A: To be honest, it's unlikely you'd get into a top grad school out of Westwood. Not only is it not regionally accredited, which you do note, but it's also not considered particularly strong, academically. However, if you do end up with very high GRE/GMAT scores, you may be able to get into a reputable graduate school somewhere. Maybe not the tops in its field, but solid, and reputable. For example, Simmons College in Boston every year accepts a few women into their MBA program who actually lack undergrad degrees; they likely wouldn't have a problem with Westwood, if your GMAT was good (and you were female.) But you know what? Re: even the top level programs, exceptions to rules are made very occasionally. If you really do rock that GMAT, and if your work history is extremely strong, and you have an interesting story to tell, I'd actually have you contact someone at the very strong programs you're interested in: someone in admissions, for MBA schools, and the professor you'd most like to have as your mentor/advisor, for other masters degrees (those that require the GRE). Talk to them directly. Sell yourself. See what they say. Because I saw a man admitted directly into a PhD program at an elite university without an undergraduate degree of any sort, because he was so promising, and because he had a very unusual background. He's now the foremost scholar in his field. So it can happen. It just doesn't happen very often. Don't count on it. Have a backup plan.

Q: Can an undergraduate degree in International Management compliment a Medical School degree?
Wondering if there would be a way to tie in the International Management under-graduate degree after completing medical school. Maybe in a policy related position?

A: Sure, you could work with the UN on one of the health related organizations, like WHO, etc. There's plenty of jobs around for doctors interested in world health and ways to improve it.

Q: Has anyone with a Penn Foster High school degree been accepted into a university or college?
I graduated from Penn Foster High school and was wondering if anyone has graduated from their high school progam and been accepted into a university. Are any universities more prone to accept the degree?I am now applying to universities and would appreciate any info anyone could give me. I have a 4.0 GPA, I did not take the SAT or ACT, I am a minority, and had jobs through high school.. What are my chances of getting accepted?

A: I went the community college, then the university route after Penn Foster High School. So can't really say yes or no. But it is worth a try. Although I think you have to have some record of taking the SAT or ACT or basically have scores in order to be admitted to a major Uni. So you may want to take the ACT then apply. Most Universities want top 10% in high school class plus high or average SAT and or ACT scores to be admitted into particular majors such as engineering, material science etc. So you may want to look into a community college like I did that will transfer to a local 4 year University.

Q: Is it possible to build your own business with a high school degree in Singapore?
Do you think it's possible to build your own business with high school degree in Singapore? (entrepreneur with high school degree only) I think formal edu is not that important. Most of what they teach inside the classroom cannot be applied in the real business world. Just a piece of certificate or even excellent academic result cannot guarantee you will be successful in the real world. Experience is the best teacher -not text book

A: Yes, you may be right that a degree may not guarantee success in the real world but it is just so much harder without it! Of course, there are people who do well without having to go thru college BUT people do not go to college only to study what's in the textbooks. Part of the reason why companies hire graduates is because they want to know that you have enough discipline to put yourself through those 4years, coupled with your studying, social activities & projects, you are still able to pull through at the end of it. I have met some brilliant people who did not go through college but for them to get to the same position as a graduate in the corporate world, it will just take them much more time or perhaps no such opportunity is ever given. Of course, you are asking about building your own business here in Singapore, & Singapore is a society that values education heavily. Which is why you would see the long list of abbreviations people attach on their namecards of their scholastic achievements. I wish I could say otherwise, but having a degree will definitely help here. It also depends on the type of business you are going to be doing. If you are simply going to open a small shop to sell accessories/clothes, then yes, your high school degree is probably enough. But if you want to turn a coffee shop into a chain of franchises such as Ya Kun, then you would either need to put yourself through school, or hire people who have the academic backgrounds & experiences to run in line with yours. Academic+Experience+Foresight will take companies very far. I always encourage people to keep updating their internal software. Go for courses, take classes, read more, talk to more people. If you close up the option for continuation learning for life, & depend on only experience alone, then we will be back to Singapore in the beginning. Without our intellects as a nation, we may have to go back to being factory workers or selling Kachang Puteh on streets.

Q: Is A medical school degree from france acceptable in America?
I want to go to medical school in France, possibly Paris, but will I be able to work with my degree when I come back to Canada or the U.S. Does anyone know of any reputable medical schools in Paris, France

A: Well, I disagree with the previous posters. Yes, a physician educated in France is capable of practicing in both Canada and the US. It's not as simple as just applying. All foreign educated physicians must pass the US Medical Licensing Exam (all US students must pass it, too). The only problem is that US students take the first exam, called Step 1, right after completing the first 2 years of medical school where they studied the basic sciences. Step 1 is all science and if you have completed all of your training and obtained a MD in another country, you'll be several years out from having studied these sciences and that had adversely affected FMG's scores. Naturally, the way around that is to take review and prep courses before taking Step 1, but these can cost a lot of money. The poorest decision would be to attend a medical school in another country and then try to come to either Canada or the US for residency training. You'd still have to complete the USMLE, but the European method of teaching is different than the US and Canda's and you'll end up repeating some of your training and missing out on other aspects. So, if you do decide to train in France, the best thing will be to complete all of your training there. You can read about the USMLE here: http://www.usmle.org/ You should also review the educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates: ecfmg.org 11 of France's 50 medical schools are located in Paris. This link is to the International Medical Education Directory where you can research each school: http://imed.ecfmg.org/search.asp Presumably, you speak French, as none of the medical schools offer an English program.

Q: What degree in school will help me get a job?
I want to know what should degree I get in school. I would hate to get a degree that I can't use. I'm willing to go to trade school or whatever. I just want a well paying job and a degree I can really use.

A: being so much selective with education vis-a-vis job... is not a practical approach... go for an engineering degree... followed by MBA... job would be sure...

Q: What kind of jobs can I get with a masters degree in School Counseling?
I currently teach, but really do not enjoy it. I do, however, like the children, just not the classroom part. So, I went back for my masters degree in School Counseling. Now that I'm coming to the end, and getting ready to graduate within the next year or so, I wonder if there are any other job opportunities available to me, outside of the school setting.

A: You may be able to consider a variety of counseling positions, depending upon the requirements of the employers. For example, university guidance centers hire counselors, and various social services agencies hire counselors - addictions counselors, counselors for victims of abuse, etc. Cancer centers employ counselors to work with patients and their families, etc. You may have to do some extra course work to qualify to work in some situations with adults. Begin to look around and I think you will find a variety of options.

Q: What Can I Do With A Degree From NYU FILM SCHOOL?
I'll be graduating next year and I'm terrified that I won't be able to find a decent paying job. I'm at the top of my class at NYU Film - my films were heavily praised by teachers and fellow students alike and they always made the Student Showcase. Unfortunately, in the film making business, its who you know not what you know. So I was just curious - who would hire me once I graduate with an NYU Film School degree? What kind of jobs can I ope to obtain?

A: The only advice I can give you is to move to Los Angeles. You might also want to try doing a graduate program at USC. I hear that most people that graduate from there get top paying jobs.

Q: Can you get into medical school with an Associate of Applied Science degree?
I want to go to nursing school, and there is only one nursing school around me that offers a bachelor's degree. This is the school I want to go to, but they aren't listed on the ACT website to send my results to. So is it possible to get into med school with only an associate of applied science degree? (The schooling is 96 weeks)

A: Suppose you were the director of admissions at a medical school. You get about 5000 applications from people getting a four year degree, many majoring in biology or chemistry. Then you get one application from someone with an associate degree, who probably has not taken organic chemistry for example. What would you do?

Q: Can you help with a school degree question?
I was interested in learning computer software. How many years is it to get a bachelor degree on that? (no prior school) Does that cover classes in design? Are the online classes? I have a son and would love to do it from home.

A: A bachelor's would be 4 years. It should cover design as well.

Q: What clothes should i wear for a 65-71 degree school day?
should be high school appropriate and reasonably comfortable. thanks.

A: I would say jeans capris or the sweat capris and a nice comfortablle graphic tee or maybe the 3/4 cut pull over hoodies. They have some at Hollister and I think Aeropostale.

Q: Have you ever done a double school degree?
I hope people who have done two degrees at once can answer this question. its simple: have you ever worked for two degrees at once? Was it hard? How much effort and time did you put into it? I'm thinking of getting two associates from community college and then transferring over to a bigger school, but I'd like to know if someone who has done a double major/degree program, what was it like? Thanks!

A: Yes I have. I have double Associates, and BA. It's great. The core classes tend to count for both degrees, so you don't have to take them more than once of couse, and it's only as hard as school typically is for you. If you are a person who typically likes school and enjoys your classes, you will still enjoy it. I hightly recommend it. :)
