Q: How does online degree courses work ? ?
how does it work ? what are pros and cons? can i get AA degree from online courses and then xfer to another college (not online course) to get bachelor degrees?

A: Online degree programs are meant for those who cannot or do not wish to attend regular classes. So how do they work? Well all that is required is a computer with internet access. Upon enrollment in an online college or university, you will be provided with access to their online education portal through which you would be able to access online study material, courses, lectures as well as interactive activities such as chat rooms, forums etc to connect with your virtual class fellows. You will be given projects with deadlines, and you can work on them anytime of the day, whenever you are free and from wherever you are most comfortable. Yes you can acquire your AA degree from an online college or university and then transfer into a traditional college. You can find complete information about online degrees and a list of online institutions and their degrees at: http://www.onlineedublog.com/ Hope it helps!

Q: I got suspended from college, where can I take non-degree courses?
I was put on academic probation as a freshemen last semester and I didn't make the minimu gpa this semester so I am now being suspended or dropped(?) from college for one semester and have to reapply for admissions next spring. In order for me to get readmitted, I have to take 12 hours credit over the summer and/or fall, but I have no idea what non-degree seeking courses is and what institutions would take me in. Please help! but the thing is, I really dont wanna go to voc/tech school.. are there any fairly well-known 4 yr college that offers non-degree courses? if yes, what schools are there? and after researching, I found out that these courses are called extension program, is it like open to everyone who just want to be in school? like old ppl are in those classes, arent they?

A: Community colleges are your best place. Many will take you in as a non-degree seeking student. If you do this right, you can even take some classes that you will be able to transfer into your degree program. Also, you can probably take some courses through an independent study program. Louisiana State University has these types of courses. Check with your academic advisor to make sure they are O.K. first though. If you do this right, some of these may also apply towards your degree program. LSU charges $229 for a three-semester hour course. http://is.lsu.edu The independent study courses aren't easy A's, so really apply yourself and concentrate on the courses. Also, they are open enrollment, so once you get approval, you can start one immediately. Good luck Edit: Yes, extension programs and independent study programs from some schools do NOT require formal admittance in order to take courses. Independent study at LSU is one of those. It is also one of the cheapest. Here are some more. Q: Is it possible to switch degree courses at uni if you are unsure about the one you are on?
I have enrolled on an Accounting degree but think i may want to change to Law. I know there are places left on the law degree as it is in clearing.

A: It is possible. My nephew did it twice, switching to easier, less useful subjects each time. Now, he has a useless degree and is unemployed. That should not happen with law. It's a very useful degree and, if you still want to go into accountancy later, will make you more attractive to the big accountancy firms than a degree in accounting.

Q: Are there any degree courses studying tudor times?
I really want to do a degree studying the tudor times but i dont really want it to be a module in a history degree. I am very passionate about the tudor times and i would love to study it.

A: The University of Michigan has a program that might work for you, called Medieval & Early Modern Studies. They give you flexibility in the period you want to focus on, I believe. http://www.lsa.umich.edu/mems/ug/ You can always create your own major (at U Mich and probably most schools) and combine history, literature, art history, science, philosophy, and other courses about the Tudor era into a cohesive degree program. Consider studying in England - they'd be more likely to have a program that focuses just on this period. Generaly something this specific would be a graduate program.

Q: if i were to get a diploma in aircraft mantainence tech..what options of degree courses are there for me?
or getting my licence is the only option?

A: I agree with Jerry L as I have a few friends that graduated from Embry Riddle. Even though you have a degree, you will still be required to obtain an airframe & powerplant (A&P) license to be able to work on an aircraft. Getting the degree just gives you the necessary requirements to take the A&P written, practical and oral exams. Once those are passed, you will be licensed by the FAA.
