Q: What jobs can I get with a psych degree and a fine arts degree?
I am finishing a psych degree and really want to get a degree in fine arts, but I am just wondering what jobs are available. Would it benefit me to get the additional fine arts degree (it will only take me a year to do)? What fine arts jobs are out there as well(regardless of psychology degree)? Thanks!

A: Look into art therapy, it might be what you're looking for. Obtaining a fine arts degree can open a lot of other options. There are countless jobs that you can obtain from a fine arts degree, from traditional art to commercial, to even medical related! A: Go back and talk to your adviser. He or she will actually have resources for you in finding a job. Only you can know what sort of career you want. A general arts degree can help you in any art field but limit you in the lack of a speciality. Sculpture with wood and photography sounds like fine arts to me, like art for art's sake. There's not a lot you can do functionally with something that specific. With that you're best option may be to constantly and obnoxiously show your portfolio to any and every gallery you can travel to easily.

Or are my only options to have a degree in journalism, communications, marketing or sociology? I live in the Detroit area and community colleges that offer these above fields of study seem to be very few and far between. I've found one nearby however, that offers a liberal arts degree. A: Yes, you probably will. Liberal arts degree holders can do anything they want and most even change careers often.

A: Yea if you're a good pastry chef you can be making almost $250,000 a year. Or at least that's what my friend whose a pastry chef makes. Its really hard work and it takes natural talent.

A: As associates "degree" is basically an announcement to the world that you didn't get a bachelor's degree. I'd strongly recommend your continuing on to your BA. Ask at the Department where you would major and they will happily discuss with you your career opportunities upon graduation with their degree. Good luck.

I am getting no where fast with my Bachelor of Arts degree. I even finished in the top ten percentile of my class. Why can't I get my foot in the door?

A: what are you applying for? some jobs want a certain type of degree or experience. usually they will replace a degree with experience if you dont have it. for example: "minimum bachelors degree in computer science or experience is necessary" since a bachelors is roughly 2-4 years of learning you would need 2-4 years experience IF you dont have that degree. but i understand whats going on. i have some college and 8 years experience, and yet they want straight out of college folks with no experience, they can do the job, but i can do it better. the market is getting greedy for degrees and they are starting to get hungry for certifications, so watch out for that too!

A: My daughter graduated in May with a Fine Arts degree. She got a job. Not in an area of Art but the degree helped her get the job. I will tell you what I told her. You have to follow your heart. Get the degree you are interested in and forget about the rest. Jobs will come along. My daughter is very talented and has some beautiful pieces that she has created. She has a small side business where she prints invitations for any occasion on a small but very old printing press. They are gorgeous and very unique. Go for it and get that Fne Arts degree. A: i would stay away from liberal arts degrees. you'll get into debt going to school and then end up with a job that doesnt pay the bills.

A: Having an AA Degree can open alot of areas for you. I would take it on your way to the Bacehlor's since this will give you a completed degree as you apply for positions. I can't say for certain what types of positions or pay rate. However I would recommend taking this as an opportunity to explore positions related to your long term career goals. Some schools offer focus tracks for AA degrees while others have relatively general degrees aimed at completing general education requirements for a later degree. I have a B.A. in Spanish, but my university says on the diploma-a Liberal Arts degree. & the Dept. chair o Foreign Languages told me that we aren't supposed to expect to be fluent in French/Spanish upon graduation.
