Q: How much would a bachelor degree in finance cost at a comunity college?
I am planning to get a bachelor degree in finance and i would like to go to an online college like AIU; they said that it would last about 4 years (associate+bachelor) and that i would have to get an associate first that would cost about $21k + $30k for the bachelor=$51k.
Is that a good investment or should i go to a community college?
I live in the Saginaw-Detroit area.
The bachelor would cost
A: You can not get Bachelor's degree in a community college. You can only get Associate degrees.
But what you can do is....
Go to community college first. meet a counselor. Tell him you want to get Bachelors in Finance and you want list of transferable units in Finance to a University.
You will take courses for 1 to 2 years. These same courses are offered in a University, but cost a lot. You will save a lot of money this way. Then in your second year, apply to University of your choice and complete your Bachelors...which will be 2 more years.
You can also apply to Financial aid. You need to be very assertive in getting grants for your tuition.
Good luck
Q: bachelor degree?
just curious, i was thinking about get my bachelors degree in criminal justice, i do have my associates degree in police science but thinking about trying to give myself a few more options, just what will i be doing in school or on-line to get my degree, impute would be helpful !!!!
A: My first cousin graduated with a degree in criminology (pretty simialar to criminal justice) and she attended law school. With your background, you could apply to law school and use that knowledge to be a prosecutor or criminal defense attorney (the latter being more lucrative than the former). You can be an instructor at a police academy. You can work as an FBI agent. Contrary to what a lot of people think, you have a myraid of options.
I would recommend criminology over criminal justice because the former sounds more professional than the latter.
Q: What kind of bachelor degree is required for optometry, ophthalmology and dentistry?
I'm not too sure what I want to pursue as a career. Its between optometry, ophthalmology and dentistry. Can I do a certain bachelor for 3-4 years to give me time to decide what I really want to do? Or does each career require a different bachelor degree?
A: Since those are all biology/health related fields, the degree of choice is a Bachelor's in Biology. Typically, there will be a concentration attached to this degree. For instance, a pre-optometry student would declare themself as a Biology Major with a Pre-Optometry concentration. All this would mean is that you would have to take certain classes within your biology degree to fullfill the pre-reqs for optometry school. This rule applies to both pre-dent and pre-med students. So yes, one degree would allow you to apply to all three schools, but 2-3 classes might be different within that degree to satisfy the requirements.
Q: What is the differences between bachelor degree in Europe and Canada?
I finished my 3 years bachelor degree in Europe. Now I want to apply for the master degree(management) in Canada. Is that Possible you think? How do they evaluate my bachelor, there?
A: It will make a great deal of difference where you got the degree. If you have a degree from Oxford, fine. If you have a degree from the Moldavian State Agricultural College for Women that will be much more problematic. It will also matter whether you just have the degree or if you have the degree plus business experience. You might want to inquire directly with the office of admission of the university or universities you are interested in. Or shop around a bit at www.aucc.ca which is the main portal for all things to do with university education in Canada.
Good luck.
Q: Do you need a bachelor degree to take CPA exam in California?
I don't have a bachelor degree and I am planning on taking CPA reviews classes at UCLA extension to prepare for the CPA exam. I heard that you need a bachelor degree to sit for the exam. Is that true?
A: Yes, you do need a Bachelor's Degree. Actually, you need 150 credit hours. A Bachelor's usually consists of 136 credit hours, so you'd need to take a few extra classes in the accounting field to make up the 150 credit requirement.
Q: What would be a better option between a Bachelor degree in culinary arts or an associate degree?
If I didn't have a Bachelor's degree already, I wouldn't even think twice between one or the other but the thing is that I already have my B.A and want to have enough preparation to become an executive chef one day but is an asociate degree enough for that or do I have to go through the whole Bachelor's process over again?
A: bachelors degree can easily equal an associates degree w/ experience which can also easily equal no degree w/ even more experience
just because you have a degree doesnt mean you will land a position quicker... you need experience too.
to tell you the truth, when i am hiring, i do not usually look at your education. experience is the first thing i look at on resumes. i can teach an employee certain knife skills and such, so if they have experience, and do not know something, i am willing to take the chance and teach them.
some of my best chefs do not have any formal education and have gone on to work for world famous restaurants once receiving the experience from my restaurant
Q: What is the easiest way to earn a bachelor degree with previous college credits from other institutions?
I have two associate degrees from a local community college and a few college credits from another college. I need a bachelor degree to land a better paying job.
Does anyone know of a major university that offers an adult or continuing education program that would allow me to combine the credits from my two associate degrees and additional credits with having to take more than 1 or 2 semesters (10 or less classes) to complete my bachelor degree either through distance or online learning?
If anyone knows of a credited university or program in which would allow me to earn my bachelor degree as mentioned above, I would be very appreciative of your help (answer).
A: Any major university should be able to help you with this, you just need to decide where you want to go. When you apply to the university, you will need to submit all transcripts from other places to see what can get transferred. That's great that you have two associates degrees, and that should pretty much get you clear of 1st and 2nd year of a bachelor's, depending on the classes that you took and how they would apply to the major you choose. It's also good that you have some additional college credits; I hope they are 3rd or 4th year major classes - this will help. I seriously doubt that you will wind up with enough transfer credits to get you down to only 30 hours or so, plus most universities will have a minimum number of hours you must take at that university for them to be able to award you a degree - but this could be around the 30 to 45 credit hour mark.
Seriously, contact some advisors at the major universities closest to you. They should be able to help you and probably even guide you to a major that all your credits would apply to.
Good luck.
Q: What must be done to increase the value of a bachelor degree?
It appears that a bachelor degree is not enough anymore to guarantee a permanent job with benefits and sustainable wage. There is even more uncertainty with a graduate degree. Are institutions too generous in awarding degrees? Are there too many colleges today? Too many online programs? Receiving a bachelor degree used to be an elite achievement but now is seems like they are too readily available.
A: While there may well be some issue with availability increasing the number of people with a degree, a bigger part of what has caused this is that more and more jobs in 2007 require a college education than did in 1951.
There has also been a change in the corporate culture that you're alluding to. In 1951, you went to work down at the XYZ Company and you stayed at the XYZ Company through your whole career. These days, we don't do that. We look around on occasion and see if ABC Almagamated will offer us a better job with more pay - we move about far more often than our grandparents did.
XYZ Company and ABC Almagamated know this - since we workers aren't committed to them, they are equally less committed to we workers.
I think though, your observation about graduate degrees is flawed. Actually, the more education you have, the less likely you are to be unemployed and the less impact those periods will have. SImply holding an earned MD or JD degree means you will not be unemployed. The same is true of other graduate degrees such as the DDS, DVM, MAcct and to a lesser degree but also of the academic MA/MS or PhD. There are very few unemployed MEd holding HS Math teachers when compared to say BA holders who majored in Psych.
The bachelor's degree is the new HS diploma. Without one, the trip to middle class is difficult at best. The master's degree is the new bachelor's degree and more and more people have more than one.
This is 21st century America and we're high tech like never before in history. The solution to your quandary is to get more than one bachelor's, or a master's or two, or a professional degree. You've seen the writing on the wall, we just have to say "oh! I see what I need to do" and do it. ☺
Q: What is the difference between Bachelor degree in Business and MBA?
I am a undergaduate student in engineering.
I think of study Bachelor of business concurrently with my engineering studies.
I intend to do MBA in the future, just wonder if bachelor degree in business is going to be a good foundation? And will it help me to move into management position quicker?
Anyway, could you give me some suggestion if it is wise to study bachelor of business concurrently with engineering studies.
Thank you
A: No, you do not need an UG degree in business for an MBA program. I would focus on engineering and get good grades to get into the best MBA program you can. Be sure to get a good job after school, and work for 2-4 years before the MBA.
Q: What is the difference between a bachelor degree and a diploma?
I finished high school and i have two options either to go to a university or an association of architecture (School of AA in London - which is one of the TOP schools in the world for architecture). What i read on the school of AA is that you take at the end of the undergraduate study a diploma. Which is better to have a diploma or a bachelor degree from a university? Please advise me.
A: A diploma is fine to have, but having a Bachelors Degree is better because it is of much more value. The reason for this is because it shows that you have the necessary knowledge in the field that you want to work in.
Q: What can i do with a bachelor degree in psychology?
If i don't intend to continue and get a honors or master but instead just complete my bachelor degree in psychology and start working, what would be my options in terms of work success?
A: You won't be working in the field of psychology. Try child day care, educational assistance in school system, non-profit organizations working with special needs individuals. Most people with a BA in psychology are working outside their field, e.g. sales, office work. (psych prof)
Q: Does anyone know if a Bachelor degree will transfer from the United Kingdom to the United States?
This Bachelor degree is in Accounting. My friend is from London, he is planning on moving here, to the USA, and he wants to know if the Degree will transfer. Also any proof of this information would be very helpful.
A: I have friends here in the USA that are from the UK and their degrees hold up just fine here.
Q: What is the best way to go about getting my bachelor degree when I graduate?
I want to be a vet, and need to get a bachelor degree first. I thought about going to community college here for two years and then away for two years, but will a vet school really find community college impressive?
What scholarships can I get to pay for vet school. Do I have to get the Bachelors degree first? Some schools say it isn't needed.
A: I think a community college is a good way to get the basics out, and for you to prepare better for college. It also helps you see some of the things you might need for later on. They will see your education and grades, not whether you got a "real" education. A community college is a good start from right out of high school. You can get different scholarships, depending on the schools, and your criteria. Start applying now! You will need so many credits prior to getting into vet school. Find out what school you want to go to, then find their criteria and follow that. Best of luck!
Q: What jobs have you got after getting your bachelor degree in psychology?
i am not talking about Master degree, i am talking about just a bachelor degree in psychology, what job have you got with just a bachelor degree in psychology? and did you have any previous experience before applying into this job?
A: You really are limited if you only have a bachelor's. You won't be unemployed forever, but you may not find the work you really want. Previous research indicates that only about 25% of psychology undergraduates end up working in a field closely related to psychology.
A bachelor's degree in psychology qualifies a person to assist psychologists and other professionals in community mental health centers, vocational rehabilitation offices, and correctional programs; to work as research or administrative assistants; and to take jobs as trainees in government or business. However, without additional academic training, their advancement opportunities in psychology are severely limited.
With my bachelor's, I worked in a group home and a community mental health program.
You could probably get a job as a psych tech, so I would check with the state hospitals, community mental health programs, or private hospitals. You may also be able to find work as a case manager (again check the places above).
It is best if you have some experience, but honestly, some of these places are so understaffed, they'll hire you anyway.
Q: What do you think is the average tuition for a bachelor degree in Interior Architecture and Design?
I am seeking a degree online in Interior Architecture and Design. I have seen tuition costs like $88500.00 for a bachelor degree. Can anyone tell me if in your opinion whether the price seems reasonable or not?
The figure $88500.00 is the total figure over the four years. I don't know if that makes a difference.
A: That's too expensive. I go to suffolk university my tuition for a BS is 30,000 a year. That's the avarage one.
