Q: associate degree?
if i apply for a job and said that i have an associate degree... how would they know whether or not i really do? do they ask to see any proof?
A: The majority of employers that I have been involved have asked for a copy of my diploma to place in my file. So, with that in mind, I would not say that you have a degree if you do not have one.
Q: What kind of job can i apply with associate degree in computer systems?

Thanks a lot for the answers.
A: teknishun
Q: Should I get my associate degree or stay with the bachelors program?
I am currently in a online school for my bachelors degree. I have about 55 credits and was told you only need 60 credits for an associate degree. I wanted to know is there a way for me to get my associates and still continue with my bachelors program ? The bachelors program is 180 credits close to two years .The college that I am attending does not have an associate program. I am studying in human resource and trying to move up in my career. Any suggestions would be great .
A: Check with a local junior college to see if the credits you have can be transferred to complete an associate degree. Of course you may have to take some classes with them to fill their requirements. Meantime you can continue with your online bachelors program.
Q: What kind of a job I can get with an associate degree?
I just got my associate degree in general science, cuz
I was planning to go to four year college, but now I have to work so I was wondering where I can apply for a job with the degree I have since my major is not specific. And if anyone can tell me where to look for a job. I have no work experince at all. I am a house wife and raised my kind now i have time to work.
A: You should go to school while you work - a four-year Bachelors degree will get you farther than a two-year Associates. Consider the hard work as investment in yourself.
Q: What can someone do with an associate degree in Business Management?
I see my college offers an associate's degree in Business Management and I was considering it, but I'm not sure what positions that would qualify me for. Any ideas of job & salary? Ty!
Really? I thought educated people had class, and answered other people's questions graciously, without being rude or sarcastic. But now that I think about it, you never promised you were classy or educated.
A: with an AA you will not be as mobile. if your employer goes belly up, it will be much harder for you to find another job. On the other hand, if you work for a stable company for 10-15 years, you can do a lot with that AA degree. Just make sure to have a fresh attitude every morning when you show up for work and do precisely what your manager asks of you. While in the short term you will not receive much in terms of compensation, it the long term you will be just fine.
With a fresh AA, expect to do little more than paper work, filing, organizing meetings and resolving conference room booking conflicts. But you will grow out of that in a few years.
Q: If I get an Associate Degree in Graphic Design, will any company hire me as a graphic designer?
I imagine that they pay would be lower than someone with a bachelor's degree but would I still get hired? I fully intend on getting my bachelor's after my getting my associate in graphic design, but I need to find a way to support myself in some other way besides working retail/fast food jobs, while I earn my bachelor's degree. Thanks.
A: Honestly, if you have a killer portfolio, it doesn't matter what education you have had for graphic design. I just graduated with a BFA in graphic design, and the job market is just as tough for me. First, they look at your portfolio, then your resume. And when they look at the resume, it's for work experience, not so much the degree. If you have good work, they won't care whether you have a bachelor's or an associates. So don't sweat it! If you need more stuff for your portfolio, just look around. Go to Barnes & Nobles and pick out your least favorite book covers and redesign them. Do the same with movie posters. Make up your own event posters with corresponding post cards. And if you do those things, when you show them in your portfolio, never tell them you did those on your own unless they ask. And if they do ask, tell them why you didn't like the original and why you think yours works better. Good luck, and just have fun with it!!
Q: Can I apply for Green card with an associate degree in Nursing ?
I am planning to pursue a career in Nursing and applying for an associate course in US as it is of lesser duration and cheaper too as compared to bachelor one. Can anyone please guide me whether I can apply for Green card based on an associate degree or should I go for bachelors. Kindly help.
Thanks in advance.
A: It is not a matter if you have ADN or BSN, the most impt thing is to find somebody to sponsor you. It will take a few yrs with lots of paperworks, need to advertise in newspaper that nobody is really qualified except you (Which is tough on your case, since there are a lot of nursing grads right now). Then you will get your interview with the INS, when approved then you get your coveted green card. Good Luck!
Q: Do you think it will best to earn my associate degree in nursing?
I want to become a registered nurse. Do you guys think that it would be best to earn my associate degree in nursing because I need the money to take care of my child? After completing my 2 year degree I plan to go back to school to further my education. How much money does a nurse make with a adn degree in nursing? Has anyone done this before? If so do you have any information that may help?
Thanks in advance!
A: Yes it is best to earn your assoc. degree. You will need your assoc. degree to be a RN. Dont settle for LPN, the joke of "Lower Paid Nurses" is there for a reason. They do basicly the same job but make alot less money to do it. Certain units in hospitals dont have LPN's, such as my wifes unit. I will use my wifes pay scale to answer ur question for the pay. RN orientation $18+/hr, post orientation $20+/hr, 1year in $21+/hr. shift differential depends on ur hospital but my wifes runs about $2.25/hr more then weekend pay is $7/hr more. This also will depend on your hospital. We are from South Carolina. Agency nurses make $32+/hr but most agencies will require 1 year exp. Bach. degree in nursing is about worthless unless you want to be in management. If you do go back to school persue either being a Mid Wife or Phys. Assist. or some other specialty that ur nursing degree can get you into.
Q: What to do with Associate degree in commercial/residential electricity construction?
22 years old, Working on a 16 month Associate degree in residential and commercial electricity construction and maitainence. The school claims to being able to line me up with a job upon graduation. Is there good potential in this? Or should I apply at IBEW after graduating? Advice needed from a beginner electrician.
A: Unless you want to work non-union then take the job after the schooling. If you want a career, then apply to the IBEW your area, show them your training certificate and become an apprentice journeyman wireman. You may even qualify to take the journeyman exam.
Consider the benefits, the salary, and the retirement plan of the IBEW compared to a non-signatory contractor. Check out the IBEW website at www.ibew.org.
Q: Difference between a business management and marketing management associate degree?
I'm planning on getting an associate degree in either business management or marketing management, but whats really the difference?
A: All business associate degree will give you a foundation in business management including accounting, marketing, sales economics etc...
When you pick a focus like marketing, human resources etc... you will then take 3-5 courses that go deeper into that concentration.
A business management concentration will go deeper into managing people (HR), processes (IT, operations), money (finance/accounting) ..All the knowledge one would need to Supervise and manage a business as a whole.
A marketing management concentrartion will go deeper into educating tthe public about a company's products and persuading them to buy those products. You will learn more about sales, advertising, public relations, consumer behavior and media.
Q: What type of jobs can you get with associate degree in criminal justice?
Trying to see what all jobs i can get with a associate degree im thinking either social worker or probation officer not sure can someone help me out?
A: probation/parole officer, police officer, jailer, dispatcher, security, private investigator
Q: What are the general requirements needed for an associate degree?
I'm going to be getting my associate degree in a community college and then move on to a four year college for a B.A. in political science. However, does anyone have a good basic understanding of what basic requirements are needed during my time in community college?
A: Two semesters of writing
Two physical sciences
One art
One humanity
Four semesters of a foreign language (if your degree from the four year college requires it)
College level algebra - at least
One to two social sciences
Electives (extra art, music, computer courses, philosophy, public speaking, or anything that transfers into the 4 year college)
The electives you choose should probably go toward the
degree you are seeking.
I've noticed that if you don't need a foreign language for the degree you desire then they usually want both public speaking (or speech-other), and an extra writing class (like Journalism 101).
Q: What's the differences between Associate Degree and Bachelor Degree for Registered Nurse?
With Associate Degree, would I get paid as much as with Bachelor degree or it's gonna be different when I get Bachelor Degree?
A: Here in Texas, a RN with an Associates or Bachelors ALL begin at the same pay rate. When you take the NCLEX-RN, there isn't a separate test for ADN and BSN, so why should one make more money than the other? Every RN starts at the same pay because you all get the same education really... I would suggest apply to all schools in your area because it is so competitive these days.. just get your RN. It takes only 1 year more to get your Bachelors after an associates degree and you can do it online at most schools! If you plan to do anything else besides bed-side nursing (ex: Charge nurse, administation, management) you will need to get your Bachelor's, but you wouldn't qualify for any of those positions until you've been a RN for at least 2-3 yrs.
Please don't believe what some of these people are saying on here... Call your local hospitals and ask!
I hope this helps.. Good Luck to you!
Q: Getting a job with an associate degree in computer science when I already have a bachelor degree in marketing?
I received a bachelor of Science degree in Marketing two years ago. After I graduate I realize this wasn't the right career for me, so I decided to pursue an associate of science degree in computer programming. I would like to know:
1) what kind of job can I get with just an Associate Degree in computer programming? I don't plan of getting a BS in computer science.
2) How will having a bachelor degree affect an employer’s perception of me?
A: It is often said that when you ask you find answers, well you are just so lucky to get this at your way . you can get that job on computer configuration and stuff like that,i am a living figure cos i work here as an engineer in the department of networking and i got my employement straight it was introduced to me by my aunt.. Q: What types of jobs can i get with just an associate's degree?
what are the option if i had a associate degree in detroit michgian pays. i dont want to spend money and lazy to study to get a bachelor's degree.
what types of job market that accepts associate degree and what is the pay for each.......
A: That is the wrong question to ask. The question is "what do you want to do?" You need to find out what you want to do and pursue that. You can always get a job that states it has a higher educational requirement unless they are looking for something like a law degree or medical degree.
The real keys to getting a job are networking and having skills. A recruiter can sometimes sell a company on you better than you and the company will listen because:
a. They trust the recruiter
or
b. The recruiter is guaranteeing the candidate (or they will replace them for free)
Also, having more real life experience than a higher educated candidate or knowing someone inside a company can also help you overcome the associate vs. bachelor dilemma.
