Q: school uniform?
my 10yr old tells me that if he has the wrong colour top for p.e he cant take part in the lesson..surely its more important to do exercise than what colour top they wear? what i want to know before i bollock the school (again) for such pettiness is the law on uniform...i thought that primary schools could only"strongly request" that you have uniform but cannot insist on it?? i have no issue with a uniform policy and he does have the right top but they have pe on mon & tues and on this occasion i forgot to put the top in the dryer..my issue is that the colour of top is deemed more important than the lesson itself-i just cant bear pettiness To John. My grammer and punctuation, although non of your concern is actually fine in reality; my degree in English will testify to that. However, for speed and convenience I, like 99% of non-anal people on here, choose to type in a non-gramatically correct style. If this offends you, tough. As for my child, I care deeply about his education which is why I dislike pettiness when it interferes with it and this particular school just lately specialises in petty rules. The arrogant person here is you. How rude to be so judgemental.

A: No primary school child should be punished in any way for having the wrong uniform or forgetting it. If the problem is consistent there should be a letter to the parents but it sounds in your case as if this was a one off and should be overlooked. To the person who mentioned individuality and children going to school in different clothing so as to be original, that's all well and good to promote individuality but I think at 10 years old it's a sure fire way to get the poor child bullied. Perhaps a quiet word with the school rather than going in all guns blazing is a good approach this time.

Q: Why do japanese school uniform models always have their shirts tucked in?
It seems like the norm today is to always leave school uniform shirts untucked. Yet all models tuck in their shirt tightly in their school uniform videos. Why?? Is there any video or picture that they go with the norm and leave the shirt untucked?

A: Cause it looks neat and groomed. They are models remember they are ment to look cute and groomed. Not messy and unkept. lol.

Q: How do I stay keep my goth style while wearing a school uniform?
I'm a goth and and I go to a public school where I can wear anything I want. But next year I'm starting at a new school that makes you wear a uniform. I hate uniforms because I can't stand to look like everyone else. The uniform is a green teeshirt with long khakis. I'm going to change when school gets out but I still don't want to wear the uniform for eight hours. I've thought about just not wearing the uniform but I'm going to have to eventually. Any suggestions for keeping my goth style without doing anything to the shirt or khakis? We're really not allowed to sew anything on to the uniform or mess it up in anyway.

A: you can have black school suplies with skulls on themvor whatever you want . you can accesorize like wear a black chocker with a skull on it( or whatever you want on it) you can bring a sweater with whatever you want on it they'll probabley let you wear a sweater but i'm not sure. wear the kind of shoes you want, and wear the kind of makeup you want and wear black nail polish and carry around a goth-ish backpack. i think you could do any of those things but i'm not completlry sure with the school rules. hope i helped though.

Q: What do you think is an appropriate school uniform?
My school is debating the present uniform and looking for alternatives. Our uniform is okay but rather bland, khaki shorts or pants or a black skirt with a white blouse with the school emblem. We have to wear black shoes with white crew socks. We are trying to get them to let us wear more variety on colors and styles, adding different colored socks and tights as well as permitting tennis shoes. What does your school wear? What do you feel is appropriate?

A: My school has to wear black white or gray shirts, or any combo. Black pants/any bottoms like skirts, ect. White, black, or gray shoes. Any color back packs except red or dark blue.

Q: How can I wash my school uniform and have it dry by tomorrow?
My parents just announced to me that they're sick of my 'messy' room and I can now wash my own clothes. The exact details (such as the fact that my dad swore at me) are unimportant. I do however have one problem: My school uniform hasn't yet been washed and I don't know how to operate the washing machine. And I have school tomorrow (ie in 12 hours). Please help! I don't know what to do!

A: If you are only washing your uniform, set the washing machine on small. (There is always a setting for the size of the load....small for just a few things, medium for a slightly larger amount of clothes, large for alot.) Put it on cold wash/cold rinse just to be safe. If you are using liquid detergent, use the detergent container's lid to pour the detergent into. Use about 1/3 of the cap for small, 2/3 for medium, a full cap for large. Start the water and add the detergent. Wait until all of the detergent is sudsy instead of concentrated liquid. Add you clothes. Close the washer door. Set you alarm (on your cell phone, perhaps) for about 30 minutes. If the washer is finished, put the clothes in the dryer. Look for a 'normal' setting. Cotton setting. Put your clothes in there. Add a dryer sheet. Start the dryer. Go to bed. They should be dry in the morning. If they are wrinkled, restart again for 5-10 minutes while you get ready for school. That should get the wrinkles out, and they'll be warm when you get dressed. :)

Q: Where can I buy school uniform coats that are solid navy or black without a hood?
My daughter's school requires that her winter coat be solid black or navy without a hood and I am having trouble finding this combination. Everything I have found is not school uniform material. Any suggestions? I have already tried Burlington. Thanks.

A: JcPenny's -- Sears --- Macy's --- Kohls ---Ross's Good Luck

Q: How much does a Japanese high school uniform cost?
I am wanting to take my junior year of high school in japan. So, I want to know how much a public high school uniform would be. Also, how much would the winter top be. And if you know this, how much would the uniforms be?

A: There is no simple answer to your question. It depends on each school. And uniform is not only one product. It's total set of blouse, skirt, shoes, socks, bag and even uniform for gym class. You have to buy all of them. I don't know how much it could be. But I think it could be 40,000-80,000 yen in general.

Q: How can I make our school uniform fashionable?
Our school uniform is: a blue, yellow, white, or red colored polo with brown, tan, navy blue, or black pants, shorts, skirt, or capris. The shorts and skirts have to be almost knees length. Shoes have to have a back and no sandals. You always have to wear socks and leggings aren't alowed. Basically hair and accessories are however you want them. I know my uniform isn't as bad as most people but how can I make it more stylish?

A: the purpose of uniforms.....to create uniformity throughout the school....i understand wanting to be stylish but you are kind of defeating the purpose aren't you?....everyones clothing is supposed to look the same so i suggest jewelery, hair, and make up are your only other options

Q: How can I make my school uniform look more emo?
I really like emo fashion and I usually dress emo but now I go to a school with a uniform. How can I make my uniform look more emo?? We have a light blue plaid skirt and a white blouse and we aren't allowed to paint our nails. Please help!

A: Wear a black wifebeater or tank top under your blouse, and leave an extra couple of buttons unbuttoned. Get a studded belt and wear it low on your hips. Get some Doc Martens. They do wonders for an outfit. If you're not into the boot look, wear skate shoes instead.

Q: How can I look good in my boring school uniform?
I am in year 11, and am 16, our school school uniform is very boring consisting of, a white polo shirt, a black jumper, black trousers/skirt and black shoes. If you find any websites that might help that would be good.

A: Check your student handbook for what's allowed and what isn't. There's a lot of ways to dress up a very simple wardrobe if you're allowed to accessorize! Add your color with simple strand necklaces and earrings or bracelets. Find a cool backpack or handbag that you like. If they're only concerned with the color and don't actually provide you with your uniforms, then you can look for a cut that's more flattering for you and/or more trendy. The key is making sure that you're still conforming to the schools dress code without completely losing your own personal sense of style.

Q: How can i accesories a school uniform and make it look cute?
what type of accesories should i buy? it is the classic school uniform. i.e. plaid skirt balzer button ect.

A: There are LOTS of accessories you can buy to liven up a bland school uniform without going beyond the regulations of what you're supposed to wear. You can buy different necklaces (bracelets, earrings etc) to brighten up a plain shirt, layer shirts ( jackets, sweaters, vests- if you're allowed). You can also invest in a cute pair of shoes, or tights. You can also try to incorporate different hair accessories (headbands clips ect) to liven up your look. hope I helped =]

Q: How can i accessorize my school uniform?
My school uniform is khaki pants with a navy blue shirt. What could i do to that to make it unique?

A: you could wear a really funky belt. That accessorizes a whole outfit to make it stand out. If you have your ears pierced, you could wear big dangly earrings. They are always eye catching (trust me). You could also wear homemade string bracelets. They are really cute, and I am sure you have seen people wearing them. If you wear 4 or 5 on each arm, it would look really cute. Are you allowed to wear sweatshirts on top???? If so, wear really funky ones with fur on the hood. Abercrombie has really cute ones. If you can't afford that, try aeropostale, you can get one for like 15$ on sale. There are so many things that you could do. Plaid is so in. are you allowed to wear hats, if so, get a plaid pink and black one. The list goes on and on, ankle bracelets, necklaces, makeup, shoes. Also, a funky and cool haircut with colored tips makes you beautiful and compimates your natural beauty. I hope this is what you are looking for!!!

Q: How do you give a school uniform more personality?
By the means of accessories/shoes, etc. There are two choices (depending on the weather, of course): a white long and short sleeved polo with the school crest and long gray pants. I'm a girl (surprising, isn't it?). The school I'll be going to next year has a very strict dress code (Catholic high school, figures.). How can I make my uniform have more personality, rather than look like everyone else? Suggestions, links, advice. Anything helps!

A: I've worn a school uniform for many years. Looking back on it, it wasn't an inconveniance. Wear accesories! Bracelets, rings, necklaces! Go nuts. Paint your nails a vibrant color if allowed. Hair dye will not be allowed I'm 99% sure lol. Just accesorize! Or YOU could provide the personality with your own. If YOU are interesting and entertaining, what you are wearing won't matter. It's really not bad to wear uniforms. You'll be back and not ever care you wore it.

Q: How can you make a japanese school uniform?
I love everything japanese and I was wondering how I could make a school uniform hand-made? Like, what things can I use to make one?

A: well you'll need cloth of course( probably navy or white for the majority and white or navy for the ribbon part contrast the colors!) Look at this link for ideas http://www.geocities.com/FashionAvenue/1492/seifuku.html and sewing skills and needles and thread. I guess you basically make a pleated skirt, and then make a sailor shirt and then make a ribbon/tie thing. Ask your mom or somebody to help you, if they know how to sew, if you get stuck on something. How to make a pleated skirt:http://www.thimble.ca/?p=168

Q: Why do mums allow their children to wear trainers to school with their school uniform?
My son goes to secondary school who have strict rules on uniform and he is not allowed to wear trainers to school. I often see children in uniform wearing expensive trainers (I recognise the brands). Surely the parents are spending more money on trainers than they would on school shoes.

A: I don't know, I just don't know. maybe ? nah...... or ? nah..... maybe just maybe, its the dad that lets them ? plus some schools dont say you cant, just that they have to be black sensible shoes.
