Q: school ratings?
are there any websited that rate on hottness- the people in a school
A: o.o
Omg. Your one of those boys who need a life and worry about LOOKS and APPEARANCES, not for the person.
Your going to school to LEARN not be RUDE and hitting on GIRLS. Or you'll end up flippin burgers at Mickie D's.
Q: Can we rely on school ratings to determine whether a school is a good or not?
I want to choose a private school for my son (this is in the UK) but there is a school I have considered but it is at the bottom of the ratings (according to The Sunday Times - 2005). Do I ignore what position the school is and still send my child there?
I have also read elsewhere on this site that private school produce snobs, although this comment was made with regards to American schools but is it still true for British schools? I thought I was sending my child there because the state schools in the area are run down (Haringey in London) with lots of gun crime so private seems the next best alturnative.
A: You need to physically visit a school during teaching time to gauge it's worth. You will get a feeling as to whether it is right for your child or not, and that does not necessarily follow that it is one of the highest in the league tables. It is purely a personal thing.
Q: What websites show crime rates and school ratings?
A good friend of mine is looking to move the the boston area, and she doesn't know were to research the schools or the crime rates in the area. Can you guys help, are there websites for this type of stuff?
A: A good school site is:
www.schoolsk-12.com
Just plug in the area you are considering and you'll find lots of information about the local schools.
For crime and other local information, try:
ww.statemaster.com
Good luck and best wishes.
Q: What do you think affects the ratings of school systems?
From my understanding, school systems are rated according on how children do on the basic skills test every year. (The tests where they say get sleep and eat breakfast) My opinion is that the reason some school systems rate so well and others so poorly is because in some states like New Mexico, the poverty level is higher and (NO OFFENSE TO ANYBODY!!!) there are more people who just live off the welfare system and don't care too much about their education. So some of those parents most likely don't encourage their children to do as good in school. Now in other states like Iowa, where schools are rated better, the people who live off of welfare are few and far between. Education is more important to them and they encourage their kids to do the absoulute best they can. I don't feel like it has anything to do with the teachers in the school system, I think it has to do more with the parent's attitude towards education and how they encourage their children. Just curious about others opinio
Thank you "yellow14228" I should clarify that I don't feel that just because parents are on welfare means they won't have smart kids or encourage their kids to do well. It just seems to me that it does happen. Again~ I mean no offense to ANYONE! I have lived in both Iowa and New Mexico.
A: The main point you made is correct: Parental involvement is the key! Whether a family is on welfare or is poor has nothing to do with it. Socio-economics plays such a small role, compared to the commitment (or lack thereof) a parent makes to the education of the child.
Q: how 2 look up Elementary school ratings??
My son is 2 yrs old and i plan to have another in a year but before i start planning i want to look up my towns school ratings before we get too comfortable here.
whats a good site to compare schools in NJ?
A: Here are a few useful sites:
www.greatschools.net
www.psk12.com/rating/index.php
www.neighborhoodscout.com/neighborhoods/school-district/ratings.jsp
From a teacher's perspective, though, the best way to know how the school is, is by paying an unannounced personal visit. The unannounced is good because when you walk in the office you'll be able to get a sense of the school. Then you can see if a tour is available right then, or you can schedule a time to come back for the tour.
Q: Does anyone know anything about London School of Commerce. What are career prospects? Its ratings and rankings?
I want to do an MBA, i was offered admission by the London school of Commerce to do an MBA and was also offered admission by Coventry to do MSC Finance. What are the overall ratings of London School of Commerce, is the school reputable? Will i get a good job after i finish the course?Which is better?
A: London School of Commerce is not a University but its a college which offers degrees of University of Wales Institute Cardiff whereas Coventry University itself is a University. London School of Commerce has a smaller campus whereas Coventry University has a very large campus compared LSC. As far as job prospects are concerned I think both the degrees are well recognized but London School of Commerce has the advantage of being in London but still Coventry is also not far from London. By the way I also have got an offer for MSc Finance from Coventry for Jan 2008 and hopefully I will be pursuing that. If it were me I would never do MBA from London School of Commerce but would have gone to a University itself and not a college but this I am talking about myself.

Q: Can "school grade labels" be replaced with "school grade ratings"?
Hi everyone,
I'm working on my research summary. To avoid plagiarism, I must paraphrase or summarize the article. I cannot "copy" (i.e., changing the order of words around) the article.
Can anyone please tell me if it is still understandable to use "school grade ratings" in place of "school grade labels"? Do these two terms have the same meaning? This is a very important paper. Thank you so much. I would greatly appreciate your help!
XOXO
A: yes school grade ratings are meaning about your grade while the school grade labels mean what are your grades in school...i think...52% sure
