Q: pre school?
how many years of school do you haft to go to become a pre school teacher?
A: Some schools require at least a 2 year degree while some just require experience.
Q: pre-school?
at what age do kids start pre-school? and is it something you have to pay for??
A: usually 3 or 4 someplace do but there is a program called head start that I beleive is based on how much you make
Q: How can a pre school setting promote adult learning?
How can a pre-school setting encourage improvement with literacy and numeracy skills in parents of their children. Apart from signposting them to adult learning course do any of your settings have any schemes running currently as my nursery setting is not in a position to do this but at college they still expect me to do an assignment on it and write about what my setting does to help! My simple answer is Nothing! Not really good enough is it .Help!
A: Well for a start they can encourage parents to come into the settings and read stories with the children this helps both children and parents gain confdence as well as improving literacy skills. Having parents come in and help out in the setting along side there child for a couple hours is also a good idea - letting them see what happens and what they do to promote literacy and numeracy skills so they can get ideas. To be honest there is not a lot they can do because they are there for the kids..im a nursery nurse but im doing a degree in early years and i have never come accross a lot of ways to promote this in a setting. The main thing they can do is offer courses within the setting or send them to courses away from the setting.
Q: Do you know a fun recipe for pre-school kids with no sugar and minimal starch?
I need a fun, easy recipe for pre-school kids to prepare. It can't have any sugar (or stuff with sugar in it) and should include only a minimal amount of starch. We've done fruit kabobs a lot - so if you know of something other than that - especially something that might require baking or cooking - that would be great.
I don't have anything against sugar. BUT - when you work in a pre-school environment - you are forever trying to keep the sugar down to a minimum. Everything in moderation. And just for the record - sugar has .10 of 1% of any kind of nutrition in it for you. It's empty calories. If it didn't have that very little tiny bit of nutrition - it would have to be listed with the FDA as a drug. So while I don't think sugar is really harmful to kids - if they are eating it - the kids are not taking in other healthy calories. So please - in trying to please parents and keep sugar to a minimum - I'm asking for non sugar recipes. I have PLENTY of recipes with sugar in them. Thank you.
A: I've made these with my son's Kindergarten and they loved them. And I felt good knowing they were not getting a sugary snack like you mentioned... If you think it is too much for your preschoolers you can prepare part ahead of time. Such as adding the dry ingredients together then letting them help with the remaining ingredients.
Biscuit Sticks
2 Cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 Cup shortening
2/3 Cup shredded cheese, cheddar
1/2 Cup chopped ham
3/4 Cup milk
Add the dry ingredients together. Then add in the shortening and mix together until mixture is crumbly. Stir in cheese and ham and then milk. Dough should be soft. Knead several minutes. Than pat dough into a square onto cookie sheet. Cut into sticks and bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
Hope you like them-we sure do!

Q: What are the requirements of DepEd for putting up a pre-elem school in the Philippines?
I am planning to turn my tutorial center into a pre school. But I have no idea what are the specific requirements that the department of education (Philippines) needs for me to have the approval i need to start with.
A: first and foremost you need to go to the department of education for assessment, they will give you the answers you needed. I have friends who put up preschools in the Phils, they were instructed to finish the 18 units requirement prior to putting up a preschool business.
Q: What is the different to attend normal pre-school & montessory?
I am considering whether to send my son to normal pre-school or montessory? Is there any different?
A: montossery is supposed to be more child friendly. but it depends, really. just send him to one, where he is going to be happy.
Q: What is the ideal age to for a child to start pre-school?
A lot of people and even some educationists are of the opinion that a child can begin pre-school from age 2. I find this not acceptable. Children in general are inquisitive and eager to learn. That does not mean that they can start pre-school from age 2. I think from age 4 or 5 is a good start.
A: Well where my sister lives they start kids in preschool at 18 months. But I feel that around 3-4 years old. That is the age headstart classes start.
Q: How realistic is it for me to get a teachers aide job at a pre-school during the summer?
I will be 16 in the summer and I love kids. I am taking child development at school and am considering majoring in early childhood education. Is this realistic to want to work at a pre-school?
Oh and I do have work experience (from a movie theater for about 8 months)
Thanks!
A: Some pre-schools don't have classes during the summer. If the ones in the area you live are like that, it would obviously be hard to get a job there.
On the other hand, a lot of communities have programs for school-age children during the summer since their parents are at work. I'd suggest looking into these since they will probably need extra people for the summer.
If there are programs in your area that are willing to hire high schoolers, you're well-qualified. Finding a job would just depend on whether there are openings for people your age.
Have you considered working at a summer camp? They ALWAYS seem to be looking for teenagers to work as counselors, and I think you'd have an easy time finding a job at a camp. You also might consider being a babysitter for an individual family for the whole summer. You could probably find a job that was almost full-time if the parents work and need a summer sitter for their school-age children.
Most high schools have a career center where businesses in the community post ads about jobs they have for teenagers. You might want to go and check it out.
It's great that you want to work with children over the summer. It'll help you decide whether that's what you want to major in.
Good luck!
Q: my 3 year old will start pre-school soon what type of cell phone should i get him?
I have never been away from my child until now. He will be attending pre-school and i wanted to give him a cell phone for emergencies. which kind should i get for a 3 and half year old. Should i get text? or just a plain simple phone that he can manage?
A: do you really think a 3 year old could text??
Q: How do I choose the right pre-school for my three year old son?
I only have one child and am extremely nervous that I am going to decide on the wrong pre-school for him. I feel it is important for him to go because he is an only child and doesn't really have any other children his age to play with. We are also on a pretty tight budget. Help!
A: just apply foe 2-3 different places and if you get an offer then go and visit them all and see what one feels best. .how staff disipline? how happy are the children?what do they do through there day? and just make sure you go with ur heart, also see how your child re-acts in the environment? where does he seem happy? i had the same prob in jan with my son (also only child) i got 2 offers and visited them both on the same day and chose the one my son semed happiest in now he is so happy and he loves it there.hope i have helped.x
Q: What are the fundamentals of establishing a pre-school nursery?
My wife and I are thinking of establishing a pre-school nursery and we need to know the best practices in this respect.
Thanks for your concern.
Mainly Curriculums and activities that parents would like to have in the nursery.
A: As far as what? Curriculums? Classroom size? Teacher to Child Ratios?
I'd like to help, but could you be a little more specific?
Q: How do I become certified to run a pre school in NY state?
I am interested in starting a pre school out of my home. I did not know if there were certifications that I had to have or if I actually needed a bachelor's degree. Any info would be very helpful.
A: You do need college to become a teacher
Q: How to open a Montessori pre school ?
I want to open a pre school in South Delhi,India with a mix of Montessori and general teaching. If I get good knowledge and guidance then can consider opening only Montessori methodology .I am looking for guidance on how much initial investment is required, where do i get infrastructure, what do we teach kids, schools have to be registered under some govt authority. and all other Information regarding opening pre school. Please help me on same.
A: It is hard to answer, since I know so little about India. However, I would start by getting your AMI training. AMI is very big in India and it is recognized worldwide as a Montessori certificate.
Your training center will be able to give more information specific to India, but I would also suggest contacting the Montessori Foundation at http://www.Montessori.org They are set up to help promote Montessori worldwide and probably have specific information.
Be careful about mixing traditional and Montessori methods. If you study them, you will see how different they are. Please don't call your school "Montessori" if you are going to do that. That hurts the perception of other schools that work hard to maintain that name.
Good luck and I hope things work out!
Q: What is the best age to start a child in pre-school?
We are thinking of putting our daughter into pre-school, but I still feel that she is too young. Once school starts it doesnt end for 12-13 years not including college!! Why not give them as many years at home as possible? She will be 4 years old in April. Just want to know what you all think. Thanks!
A: I put my 2 daughters in pre-school both at the age of 4. My oldest had no problems with it. My youngest cried and cried and it broke my heart.. but it got easier after the first week. I am glad that I chose to put her in pre-school because I didnt want her to feel that way for Kindergarten. I too wanted them to stay home as long as possible because once they start.. its 12 years of school, but my husband really wanted them to go. She still had a hard time the first couple of days of Kindergarten in which she started last year.. but I think pre-school helped with the transition.
I also think I wanted to hold on a little longer because she was my last too :) Whatever choice you make will be fine. Good Luck :)
