Q: Has anyone either benn to the Hill School or no someone who has?
I am seriously considering applying for the Hill School, but I'm a little apprehansive. Is there too much homework? Is it relly boring? Are the people stuck up? Please give me your HONEST opinion on this school and anything else you think I should know.

A: Never heard of it.

Q: hill school?
is this a good school? are the academics hard?

A: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/search.php?searchid=11672967 This link shall tell you the answers!

Q: What do you think of the Hill School?
I'm thinking of applying to the Hill Boarding School for High School. I looked at the website and liked what I saw, but I want the opinions of people who have actually been there or know someone who has. Thank you for your help!

A: The Hill School is a great traditional boarding school with good facilities and fine academics. The only negative I can think of is that the town it is in is not thriving, but neither is it impoverished. If you are interested in Hill, you might also take a look at other schools in the MAPL sports league -- Blair, Hun (low % boarding), Lawrenceville, Mercersburg and Peddie. There are 2 Quaker boarding schools in PA that are supposed to be nice -- the George School and Westtown. You will find a wealth of information (and some misinformation) on boarding schools on www.collegeconfidential.com. Look for the Prep School Admissions discussion board. Other sources for boarding school information are www.boardingschoolreview.com, www.schools.com and www.petersons.com. Good luck!

Q: If you were to choose between the boarding schools Hill School, Blair Academy, and Brooks where would you go?
If you go to any of these schools please indicate some positive and negative points of each school. I'm not looking at the rating and rank of the school, but I'm looking at the school with the best community and the perfect place to meet new people and get along with them.

A: Blair is a great community with most of the faculty living on campus which strengthens the community. Academics are top-notch but there is also time for fun. There is a dress code, but at least it is casual unlike Hill & Brooks which are coat & tie. It's around 76% boarding, so the boarding life is rich. There are many opportunities for the students to get to know each other including inter-dorm competitions, The Headmasters Society Competition, sports, dances, weekend activities, school plays, some family-style sit down dinners with assigned tables, etc. If you went there, you would enter a warm community and meet many new people. Congratulations on having such wonderful choices! There is much information and misinformation about prep schools on this discussion board http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/. You can ask your question there or search for your schools there to see previous discussions. If you went to revisits, one school might have felt more like home than the others.

Q: Should I choose UNC Chapel Hill School of Law or Duke University School of Law?
UNC (25th or so in the nation) is a prestigious law school and I am an in-state resident so it will be cheaper. Duke is in NC too, but it is a private institution and extremely more expensive - tens of thousands more expensive. It is 8th or 10th in the nation - cannot remember. I have been accepted to both, but my decision is based on the cost. Both are prestigious, but there is a high differential in cost.

A: Duke Law school will position you better towards higher paying jobs. The top firms that pay $160k+ usually only recruit from the top 14 schools (Yale, Harvard, Stanford, NYU, Columbia, U.Chicago, Penn, Berkeley, Michigan, U.Virginia, Northwestern, Duke, Cornell, and Georgetown). They do hire people from outside this list but they don't actively go out and recruit from those places. I say this because the differential in cost can be made up by a higher salary. Don't worry, most people work in the big firms for 3-4 years, pay off their loans, and quit and do what they want. Plus with the big firm experience under your belt, you've just gold-plated your resume. Bottom line, I would choose Duke Law School even though it's more expensive, because the potential return on investment is higher.

Q: The Hill School In Pottstown Pensilvania?
I have been accepted into the hill school for the school year 08-09 and am very apprehensive abou going. If any one has been there or is there currently please tell me about your experanced and the high points and the low points of the school. Also... is anyone has any knowledge if it is easy to smoke (tobacco or anything else) and such at the school it would greatly be apreciated :) i am not able to go on a revisit day because i am an international student

A: Congratulations on your acceptance! The Hill is a traditional school with nice facilities. Are you able to go to a revisit day? I think you would find this very helpful for answering your questions. You can also read student reviews of the Hill on www.boardingschoolreview.com. You can post your questions here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/prep-school-admissions/ or do a search of Hill. There is a wealth of information and misinformation on this discussion board. While I am not familiar with Hill's rules, I suspect that they do not allow students to smoke tobacco or anything else. Most boarding schools have rules that must be followed, or you may eventually get expelled. If you have a tobacco habit, reduce it and then eliminate it well before you go to boarding school. You will never regret doing this. Good luck!

Q: Is there anyone out there that will be a third form student at the Hill School in the 2008-2009 school year???

A: Not I.

A: The second link below gives the names of schools in Forest Hill that require or don't require uniforms, with a telephone number for each to call concerning specifics on their uniforms. I did find that there are at least three Forest Hills schools though, one in Tampa, FL, one in Forest Hills, NY, and one in Dallas, TX. There may be more, including at least one in London, England by that name. An excerpt from one of the sites: UNIFORMS: mandatory uniforms-- For more information about uniforms at this site, please contact the school.

Q: looking for old school friends in dunheved or rooty hill high school in sydney?
hey if u were 15 back in 1988 and were in yr10 in dunheved or rooty hill high, love to hear from ya they were the days.my first name is michelle so if that rings a bell send me a line....hope to hear from ya

A: I would join friends reunited if I were you. (I did) You select your country and you can look up schools on there. You can join free to see whether it is worth it for the Sydney area(not sure but its growing worldwide). If you dont pay to join you cant contact anyone on there but at least you can see if the school and your friends are registered on there. If you decide it would be worth joining(if you see there is someone you want to contact) the joining fee is just a few pounds-I'm guessing at about £7.

Q: What would be the neighborhood high school for high schoolers living in Chestnut Hill Philadelphia PA?
If someone lived in the Chestnut Hill section of Philadelphia PA, what would be the neighborhood high school for that area?

A: Sometimes due to zoning a section is further divided. It has been known that someone on one side of the street goes to a different school than someone on the other side of the street. You can call the Philadelphia Board of Eduction and inquire there.

Q: Is University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill a big school?
I was thinking about applying here, but I am not sure whether it is a big school or not. I know the school is big, but how big are the classes usually?

A: Most large universities like UNC and NCSU will have some big classes. Especially intro classes like Freshman Calculus and Intro to Chemistry. At NCSU, my Intro to Chemistry and Calculus classes were in auditoriums.
