Q: How do I make the college decision between great schools?
I have narrowed my search down to Boston College and Trinity College. BC has offered me $21,500 a year while Trinity has offered me $31,150. So, I'd end up paying $27k a year at BC and $15k a year at Trinity.
Of course, my parents are leaning towards Trinity. The two are both great schools, but I simply cannot choose. On the one hand, Trinity's small size (2200) will make class size about 10 kids. Better academics and knowing people on a more personal level--therefore, stronger connections are trinity's benefits.
BC (9000) has many more students so has more resources and a larger network. The social scene is of course prime and location is PERFECT in Boston.
Please help me make a decision. I am ok with coming out of college with student loans, so for all intensive purposes let's pretend money is not an issue.
A: It sounds like you have your mind made up with Boston. Go where your heart tells you, it'll make life a lot easier. But look at this... Don't go for the wrong reasons or choose a school based upon them (partying, nightlife, etc.) base your choice on where will you get a quality education, which school will prepare you for the future, and which school will have the least distractions or interruptions to your education. As far as pretending money is not an issue, LOL...
When you come out with student loans, they MUST be paid... they don't screw around with student loans. So be sure theres going to be job security when you graduate. Right now I'm looking to have quite a huge amount of loans when I graduate. Within 6 months of graduations I will be paying roughly 1300$/month to pay them back (thats a monthly mortgage payment)
I know very little about either school.. I personally would choose Trinity because there would me less distractions for me. Another thing to try, travel to both locations and take the school tour and see the town... Seeing the environment where you will live and study will definately help.
Q: Best cities in Florida to live: small children, low crime, great schools?
We may be relocating to Florida from Chicago due to a promotion. What cities in Florida are the best for young families with small children. Looking for low crime, great schools, and some housing affordability. Do not want a retirement city.
A: Check out Seminole County, Florida (Oviedo, Winter Springs, Chuluota). Great school district, low crime, great family communities!
Q: Where is the best affordable family beach community that is warm year round and has great schools?
We are looking in the range of a 200,000-300,000 house on the east coast or a 300,000 to 400,000 on the west coast. We are looking to have great schools and ocean access. Have always lived in the midwest and want more access to farmers markets and natural organtic, healthy living.Need answers soon because we are on the market and ready to go! Thanks
A: Torrance, CA is a wonderful place to live. Our low temps rarely dip below the mid 50's and the schools are very highly regarded. We are just a couple of miles from the ocean, have a farmer's market Tues and Sat, and Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are all headquartered here. The upper end of your housing range may be just a little low for a decent house here, but not impossible. Also not far from Hollywood, Disneyland, San Diego, Seaworld, and tons of other fun adult or family things to do. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more.
Q: What are the great international schools in Germany?
in germany, the UK, or anywhere else in europe...doesnt really matter. any great schools that offer a nursing program. and I want to be able to use my degree without having to re-educate when I come back to the states (USA).
A: sorry don't know of one
Q: Where are all the great art schools located?
I'm looking for some really great art schools to apply to. Anyone know or have any suggestions on where to look or the names of the schools?
A: Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA
Otis College of Art and Design, Los Angeles, CA
Academy of Art University, San Francisco, CA
California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, CA
Laguna College of Art and Design, Laguna Beach CA
Rhode Island School of Design, Providence RI
Tyler School of Art, Temple University, Philadelphia PA
University of the Arts, Philadelphia PA
Pratt Institue, New York NY
University of California, Los Angeles, School of the Arts and Architecture: Los Angeles, CA
I listed a lot of schools from California only because I'm from CA and more familiar with them. Regardless, I hope I helped a bit.
Q: What is a great school for psychology? Either a UC or CSU or even schools outside of California?
I am looking for schools that have a major in psychology; either behavioral psychology or forensic psychology. Any help?
A: Cal Berkeley, UC-San Diego, USC, and UCLA all have good programs. Outside California, anywhere with a good med school (Northwestern/Johns Hopkins a couple suggestions)
Q: where is a great place to live right outside houston? good elementary schools?
my family is moving to the houston area sometime next year, my son will be 4. anyone know of some great elementary schools and good neighborhoods to live in?
by near houston, i mean right outside houston, close enough to drive to work, but in a nice safe neighborhood
A: There are places within Houston city limits that compare quite well (or are even better) than suburbs outside of city limits.
I live in an area known as Memorial, which is partially conprised of a small network of cities called "The Villages" but also part within Houston city limits. The schools are Spring Branch Independant School district, which are excellent south of Interstate 10. For example, my area feeds to Rummel Creek Elementary School, which was rated "Exemplary" by the state. Look for neighborhoods like Wilchester, Wilchester West. I also grew up in the neighborhood, which has little crime, nice homes, and great families. For the price of a home in the northeast or west coast, you could easily afford a home in the Memorial area (especially the west part of Memorial).
Stay out of Alief. Stay out of parts of Conroe. (Conroe would be an awful commute to downtown, too). Find out where you and your spouse (or whoever the breadwinner shall be) will work and find someplace reasonably close.
Q: What are some great schools for getting your pilots license for helicopters and airplanes?
I am looking to get my license for both helicopters and airplanes and I would like to find a school that offers both with all the bells and whistles. I am not looking for limited instruction, but the whole deal and every certification I can get.
A: Emory Riddle have all the courses you're looking for. They offer programs pertaining to aeronautical field.
Q: What are some great schools in toronto canada?

Q: What is a great family place to live with great schools near Santa Rosa Ca or Richmond Ca?
In Santa Rosa if there are any if not anything close to it.
A: I am going through the same problem, everyone has their idea of the perfect neighborhood or schools... Here are some website that would help you. My family lives in Walnut Creek, Lafayette, Berkely and in Alameda.. Lafayette and Walnut Creek will have the better public schools...
Q: where is the best place to live in dallas with great schools and safe for family living?
i am relocating from michigan and i need to know the best schools and the safe/good places to live in dallas area. I also want a area that is family oriented for me and my husband and boys. 1 and 5 years old. help. oh what is the best hospital to work at too in that area?
A: I personally think Plano is the best suburb. My daughter lives there -- wish we could afford to. The schools are wonderful, town is family oriented, safe, lots of shopping, landscaped and clean. East of Interstate 75 it's older and not as nice -- stay west of 75 if you can afford it. All the Baylor hospitals are great --- I have a son who works for Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas and my daughter works at Baylor Plano. My daughter worked at Presby Plano for a few months and she quit --- she felt some of the things nurses were required to do could put her license in jeopardy.
Frisco and McKinney are equally nice areas. You'll want to stay in the northern subrubs if possible. Welcome to Texas.
Q: Moving to Seattle area. Family of 5 wants house for 400k, great schools?
I am moving my family of five to Seattle from back east. I would like to buy a house. I can spend 400k, need 3 bdrms, 2 bath. Want great schools, safe neighborhoods. I work out of my home but will travel once a week to various places in the Seattle area so I can live on the outskirts of Seattle proper. Can I get what I am looking for in this price range? Can you recommend some cities or towns I should look at when I start my house search?
A: Absolutely. Your flexibility in being able to work from home will allow you many choices in homes and communities as well as schools. I have been doing loans for people like yourself for 8 years now. I would be honored to be able to assist you in this process. I have many realtor contacts and we are a very good company. The first thing I would say is be at ease. Do not worry about your ability to find the right house based upon what you have said. I can be found at moneygoodtogo right here at you know hoo. Congratulations. This is a great area and you will love it here. Best wishes for yourself and your family during this transition and please do me the pleasure of helping any way I can. I would recommend that you consider anything outside King County as the taxes are less and prices are lower too. The farther from the city center the lower the prices generally. There are so many communities and cities to recommend I would want to know more about your situation and how far you are willing to travel to best answer. I can always make time to help someone find the right house.TM
Q: Where in Florida can I live that is culturally diverse with great schools?
I am used to culturally diverse communities (live and work in Washington DC Metro Area). Are there any communities, cities or places like this in Florida?
A: Honestly, Orlando is but maybe Miami would be a bit more culturally diverse. I don't know how the school systems there are though although am sure the schools in their suburbs will be better than in heart of the city (it's been that way in every state I've lived in so far...)
Q: Where is the best place to raise a family in Georgia, USA? Great schools? Southern hospitality? Slower pace?
I visited Marietta, Dahlonega and Atlanta in December 2003 and loved it. But I didn't spend enough time to look at houses, schools, shopping etc. And have not experienced the heat there. I'm aware of hurricanes and tornadoes. We are looking for a slower pace, better quality of life, good schools (grade, junior and high schools), friendly people and all the sweet tea I can drink! If anyone has spent enough time there to really help answer my questions, I'd appreciate it.
A: Georgia is a racist state.
Q: What are some great nursing schools in the United States?
A college that accept a 2.5-2.7 Grade point average would be great.
A: The California State University system will accept your GPA range. Many CSU schools have nursing programs. But if you are NOT a California resident, you are more likely to get rejected.
You might want to find an ASN (nursing associates degree) program near you. Many community college offer nursing degrees, and they will take your GPA range. You just need to demonstrate proficiency in the pre-reqs.
