A: You should wear something that looks really good on you and that you feel comfortable in. If you are going to buy something new go to the mall and try on a lot different things you like so you can see what looks best on you then decide from those what you are going to buy.

A: If you've taken the prerequisite undergraduate classes, any major is fine. If you're missing some prereqs, you might have to take them before you apply, check with the school you are applying to. Math sounds like an excellent major and you have a decent GPA-you can emphasize on your application how math taught you logical reasoning skills and problem-solving skills. Dentists often have to make judgement calls based on x-ray or visual evidence and they have to be good at understanding shapes and materials.

A: If you are about to attend law school you must have spent at least 4 years in college so far. You must know by now that it all depends on the courses you take and the professor's preferences. Also, you didn't mention if you intend to use all new books, all used or some combination of new and used. That affects price as well. As to your question, if you intend to buy all new books, then I'd expect to pay around $500 with a standard deviation of $125 based on the normal curve. (about 95% chance that it will cost from $250 to $750). Why don't you contact the U of K bookstore and ask them what to expect? It's what a good lawyer would do. You will soon be researching 100s of things for your professors. Start practicing NOW. Rule #1 for trial lawyers. Never ask a question without knowing what the answer will be.

Q: Can med school students transfer between schools during their first two years?
My fiancee has an interview with the University of Texas medical school in Galveston, and I was just offered a job in Houston. There is another University of Texas med school in Houston, but it's unlikely that she'll get in as an out-of-state applicant (otherwise she has more than all the requirements). Could she go to Galveston for the first year and then transfer to Houston?

A: It doesn't work that way...the reason it is competitive to get into medical school is that the school knows that attrition rates are low. In over 20 years, I have yet to hear of someone doing what you suggest. In other words, NO!

A: When I first started middle school my theme color was purple. What you should do first is definatly pick out a theme color or colors than you know hat your working with. Then go to Michael's and you can get thick paper to put on your locker then you can find stickers and such to match! You should also find pictures of you and your friends!

A: well, being a freshmen is not too fun. if your friends are mainly freshmen then you will be oblivious to older people making fun of you (which they will) although mainly only sophomores make fun of freshmen, upperclassmen do as well just not as often. here are a few tips i would recommend for your first day: 1.once you get your schedule(w/ room numbers) visit the school and learn where all of the classes are ahead of time. it sounds dorky but it helped me out SO MUCH! plus you wont look as confused and wont have to rush to class or bust out your map of the school during passing periods. 2. dont rush to class or it will be clear your a freshman 3. dont bring a backpack or a big bag. a medium sized on will work for books(if you bring books to school, i dont) and you can carry your binder. if you need a backpack a solid black on will work. 4. try not to hang out with only girls(if your a girl) and vice versa. 5. place a limit on name brands like hollister and abercrombie. try urban outfitters or pacsun. 6. get involved in a sport or club. really it helps. 7. DO NOT stand in a circle with friends and text during lunch! i know it sounds ridiculous like who would do that but people do, trust me. during your first day(well this is what happened on my first day) introduction to teacher get syllabus teacher explains what the class is about/what they expect from you any summer assignments are turned in/discussed homework(if any)is assigned well i wish you luck with being a freshmen. dont worry it goes by really fast :]

My child started first grade and all they have done is color for the first two days of school. A: I am a first grade teacher in a public school and the first few days are used basically for establishing the rules and routine. We do math activities, reading aloud, and A LOT OF TESTING to figure out what reading level the children are on in order to group the children into guided reading groups. The testing has to be done individually with each student, so it is very time consuming. I'm sure they are doing more than just coloring... I hope... is this just what you have seen your child bring home?

A: Oh honey, I was 35 when my first went (6 months ago) and I was a wreck too....I cried and made my husband stay with me. A: It can vary from district to district. I live in La Canada, and when my kids were in first grade they arrived at school at 8:15 am and got out at 1:50 pm. Some kids got in at 9:15 am and got out at 2:50 pm. That meant that for an hour at the beginning of the day and an hour at the end of the day, the teacher had only half the class and the kids got a better student:teacher ratio. You should contact your district office to get the final word.

A: My daughter goes to year round school. She started going in 2nd grade. We enrolled her in August. They usually start a new grade in July or August. Call the school and find out.
