Q: Does anyone know if Mazda has a professional driving school on the East Coast?
I am looking to improve my driving skills, and possibly pick up some additional ones. If anyone has an idea of where some schools are located on the east coast, that would be great. I know Skip Barber has one but he is located more in the mid-west. Zoom, Zoom! P.S. I feel the need for speed!!!!!!

A: Skip Barber has a course at Atlanta too. Check his schedule. Try SCCA links too for your area. While not Miata or Mazda specific they may be cheaper.

Q: How can I get some East African exchange students at my school next year?
Every year people around my community host at least 4 or 5 German exchange students and 2 or 3 exchange students from various other countries. This is my junior year of Cross Country and Track and my team isn't that great. A school a couple hours away got 2 kenyan exchange students and winning meets left and right. How can I get Kenyan, Eretrian, Somolian, Suanese, or Ethiopian exchange students to study and run at my school next year? My parents won't host an exchange student, but tons of people in my city already do every year, so why can't they be East Africans? Should I contact exchange companies? Basically how the heck can I get this to happen? (I know they might get over here and be 300 pounds, but it's a chance I'm willing to take.) I wrote this question after getting 3rd in a 200 person XC race. The two runners who beat me are exchange students from Kenya, I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. Can host families designate what part of the world they come from? Could they say they'll only host good runners?

A: Frankly, your question borders on racist! There are plenty of people who are great runners and NOT from Africa! This is a horrible reason to bring kids to your school! Hopefully you don't just want these kids because they MIGHT be athletes! That's terribly unfair to them ... and to the families who host them. You want families who are interested in ALL these kids have to offer -- not just whether they can run cross country! Having said that, if exchange students can get into a sport when they arrive (even if they aren't particularly good) they have a much better chance of making friends easier which enables them to have a good year. To get exchange students at your school -- no matter where they are from -- you need to get families that are willing to host them. That's the number one issue! Second, you must have space in your school. So, go recruit some families who want to host for the RIGHT reasons ... and find some nice kids to go to your school. If you do find the families, then talk to your school counselor. He or she probably has a preferred organization.

Q: Will switching to an East Coast School be worth my time/money?
I was recently accepted into Arizona State University's business school to finish my last two years of my undergraduate studies. It is a competitive program here in AZ but I really want to get away and would love to go to Boston or somewhere on the East Coast. I doubt I could get into Harvard or anything but I do have good grades. I finished my second year with a 3.8 gpa. My concern is that everything, including school, is much more expensive. Will the move be worth it or should I just finish at ASU and move for graduate school? Any advice would be great.

A: I would suggest you stay where you are for undergrad and begin to scout for grad school. There are other schools than Harvard in the Boston area.

Q: Looking to transfer to a school in the east?
I'm currently a freshmen in college, and i'm thinking of transferring to a school in the east. I'm in southern california right now. however, i can't afford to transfer without significant financial aid from the future school. i was wondering if the schools still offer a lot of financial aid to transfer students. if that doesn't work out well, is there some sort of program available that allows students to spend an year at a different school? Thank you

A: As for spending a year at a different school, you need to talk to the people at your school about that - only they can tell you their rules. as for financial aid for transfer students, you need to contact the schools you are considering - again, there is no general rule, each school makes their own rules.

Q: The East StreetSchool opened fifteen years after the Brown School opened. In 1978, the Brown school had cont.?
The East Street School opened fifteen years after the Brown School opened. In 1978, the Brown school had been opened twice as long as the East Street School. In what year will the East Street School celebrate its fiftieth anniversary?

A: E: how long East Street School has been opened B: how long Brown School has been opened E+15 = B B = 2E E+15 = 2E E=15 so in 1978, East street school had already been opened 15 years. to find the fiftieth anniversary, the school needs to be opened another 35 years after 1978, which is 2003
