Q: Has anyone gone to Maric College for the dental program?
Im going to be starting Maric College very soon is it a good school for the dental program has anyone ever gone there? I just dont want to waist money if its not going to benifit me. People say its not a good school and they really dont help you find jobs is this true?
A: Never heard of it, so i guess not too good
Q: Maric College?
Does anyone know how much that program for UltraSound Tech cost?
A: I know there's a Therapeutic Health Tech course that covers UltraSound, but I didn't know they had a course for that alone. I know Therapeutic Health Tech is close to $2,000. But they have a $50 a month pay-off rate, which is extremely helpful. At the end of the course there's an externship where you work 8 hours a day with no pay.. it's the only down side. But the teachers in my experience are amazing, depending on what city you live in it might vary.
Any other Maric questions feel free to email me. Take care.
Q: What is the differences between a community college and a 19 month college (ITT and Maric college) ?
What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Please be specific, thanks ! :)
A: It depends on where you live, but a CC is probably much cheaper. In California it only costs $20 per unit, and most classes are 3 units. At an ITT type school I hear tuition is in the tens of thousands.
ITT is a tech or trade school where you can learn one specific skill where a CC is more tailored to those who just want to brush up on a class, take a class for fun, or if you plan on transferring to a university to earn your four year degree.
Q: Is Maric College in North Hollywood a good school for Radiologic Technology?
A: It is listed as an accredited RT program on both the ARRT and ASRT websites, but a VERY expensive one!
Have you looked into other programs in your area?
There are many schools in many states where you can get trained to be a radiologic technologist (the proper term for a x-ray tech). You can attend a hospital based program (and earn a certificate), a 2 year college program (AS degree), and even a 4 year college program (BS degree). The hospital based programs are the least expensive, and honestly, I think the education received there is superior. Once you graduate and take your registry exam, no future employer is going to care what type of educational program you went through. All they care about is your license. You can find an accredited RT program at this site. Just search "radiography" and your state...links are provided which will give you additional information on each program (cost, duration of program, contact person):
http://www.jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp
Maric College is $19,978 per year.
Cal State Northridge is $3,400 per year.
City College in Pasadena is under $300 per year.
Chaffey College is $1,500 per year.
Maric College, Sanford Brown and other vocational programs are all institutions which charge an incredibly high amount of money. They are "teaching" you for the purpose of getting rich. I would be aware of such institutions.

Q: Is Maric College A Good College To Attend To After High School?
Does anyone know? Like costs and etc...
I want to go there for a nurse...
A: Check out collegeboard .com.
Thanks
Bill
Q: Does anybody know if you need a HS diploma or GED to go into "Maric College"?
I want to go back to school and but I don't have my HS diploma or GED yet,can I go into a college with out them?
A: The Maric College (California) homepage does not list the requirements for admission, but since it is an accredited post-secondary educational institution, you will probably have to demonstrate that you are ready to go to the next level. If you haven't finished high school, that may be more difficult than if you have either a diploma or a GED.
They do recommend that you contact them; they are prepared to evaluate your background and give credit for life experience, job-related training, military, etc. Visit the site below or call them and get an appointment to see an admissions advisor.
I say, Go for it! Good luck!
Q: Anyone attending Maric College for Radiologic Technology?
How much does the program cost and how long does it take to finish (classroom hours & externship hours to complete)? Thank you...
A: According to the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, the tuition per year is $19,978 and it is a 22 month program. I would assume that it is 22 months after you have any required prerequisites. That is a very expensive program. I would suggest searching here http://www.jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp for programs that are more reasonable (choose "Radiography" and California). As an example, San Joaquin General Hospital only charges $800 per year. Big difference.
Q: how can i get to otay elementry school from maric college in san diego california in a city bus?
A: I am not sure, but you can call 1800 commute
Q: what is the approximate population of students for Humboldt, Irvine, and Maric College?
A: UC Irvine
Undergraduates 19,459
Postgraduates 4,975
Humboldt State
Undergraduates 6,245
Postgraduates 1,065
Maric College
Don't know, and it's not on their website. It's a technical college, though.
Q: Do u think that everest college and Maric college are good skools 2 consider? Also UEI n Bryan college, thanx.
A: Know that these are all for-profit trade schools, not what most people think of as colleges.
Q: Maric College High school diploma??
Does anyone know if you need a HS diploma at Maric College?
P.S. FYI... I am using my cousins computer in case anybody knows her.
A: It would help
Q: does anybody know what are the fees for maric college in Los angeles?
A: I'm currently attending that school in North Hollywood (right next to L.A.) I am in the Radiologic Technologist program. Tuition depends on what you're planning on taking. My campus has an emphasis on X-ray. But they also have LVN programs, Medical Assisting Programs and Ultrasound. My total tuition for my program is a little over $40,000 for two years. Yeah its a little pricey but its gonna be worth it in the end. If you have a question call the school directly. 818-763-2563. Good luck!
Q: What is the best way to become a RN after being an MA from Maric?
My wife has had her diploma from Maric College as a Medical Assitant for a year now. She wants to further that and become an RN. Would her current MA diploma count towards anything in school? What would be the quickest and leat expensive way to do this? We have a one year old son and would really like it if she could finish up soon. Thanks!! We are in CA.
A: For the most part, medical assistants need to start completely over to become an RN, though I'm sure her basic classes like anatomy would transfer. The philosophy is that nurses have a completely different line of practice. The role of a MA is becoming more and more clerical.
The only program I have seen to go from a MA to an RN with minimal repitition was a program sponsored by Kaiser Permanete in Denver. MA's have to be employed with them for one year and then take night classes that are paid for by Kaiser. The program still takes just as long b/c you are going part time, and really only save about 15 credits. I'm not sure if they still have that program, or have anything similar in CA, but I know Kaiser is in CA, so I would give HR a call.
Q: Ultraasound /sonography schools. Maric or Newbridge College in CA? How much is too much to pay?
Hi I would like to ask if anyone could compare thhese two schools. The tutition for Maric is 43000 for Newbridge 25000. Is there cheaper way to learn? Thank you so much Kat
A: Neither one of these programs is listed as accredited.
When thinking about entering an ultrasound program, you need not be concerned so much about certificate vs. degree. What is important is that you go to an ACCREDITED program, whether it is college or hospital based. An accredited program allows you to take your registry (licensing) exams upon graduation. Once you get licensed, you will never be asked about your schooling again. An employer does not care what route you take to get licensed, they just want you to have that license.
Don't waste your time or money on a NON-accredited program. Upon completion and graduation from a NON-accredited program, you must work in the field of sonography for a full year prior to taking your licensing examinations. But, you will have a hard time finding an employer to hire you, unless you are licensed.
I would suggest you observe an imaging department to get an idea of what ultrasonographers do daily. There is much more to it than scanning pregnant women. Most people have no idea how much is involved in this career!
You can find a list of accredited schools in your area, by searching "diagnostic medical sonography" and your state at the following site. There are links provided for each program, which will give you additional information (including course duration):
http://www.caahep.org/Find_An_Accredited_Program.aspx
Many people, myself included, go to school to become a radiologic technologist, before continuing to ultrasound school. In fact, it can be difficult to get into u/s school without the RT license. There are many more choices for schools for x-ray in most states. You can find them here, by searching “radiography“ and your state:
http://www.jrcert.org/cert/Search.jsp
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists just did a large salary survey. You can see how much a RT and/or ultrasound technologist averaged, per year, in your state here:

Q: Has anyone ever heard of North West College? If so is it a good school to go to, to become an LVN?
This school is just like UEI, Maric College, and Brymand. but I would like to know if there is anyone that has attended this school that can tell me if it a good decision to go myself.
