Q: Is Manhattan College hard to get into if you are a transfer student?
I would like to transfer to Manhattan college. I attend Buffalo State, and received a 3.1 average my first semester. In high school, my averages ranged from 85-90. My SAT scores were not that great though.
A: Hey ! I'm the senior class president at Manhatta College and your GPA and high school grades sound like they would meet the school's standards. Extracirricular helps, also.
We are a great great school and I am sure you would LOVE It. Any other questions email me at drusso28.student@manhattan.edu
Q: What is the best way to get to Manhattan College from Yonkers by bus?
Manhattan College is located in Riverdale, NY. ---By Yonkers, I mean the area close to Yonkers Raceway.
A: In Riverdale take whichever bus runs north up Broadway. Once in Getty Square (Yonkers) transfer on to the #7 bus. That will bring you right to Yonkers Raceway area.
Q: Is it hard to get into a private College like Manhattan College?
My grades are good like a B+, A-. My sat score out of 1600 like a 750, my act 16. I plan to retake it though. Would I get accepted with these grades. If I apply early decision with these grades to Manhattan College would I get accepted. Please let me know thank you
A: Your grades are good, huh? What's your GPA? Volunteer work? Extracurricular activities? Clubs? Internships? The only thing you have there is a SAT/ACT score. That alone wouldn't help anyone here make an informed decision.
Q: Is it worth going to Manhattan College?
You might want to re-think your decision about going to Manhattan College. My brother is currently enrolled there as a freshman and has regretted every day. The school is really not that convenient to Manhattan and most of the kids that go there are commuting students or from the Long-Island area (not great for out of state kids, but could be up your ally). The food there is awful and the dorms leave something to be desired (although all freshmen dorms in any college are not that great). Probably the worst part about Manhattan College though is the unresponsive guidance counselors and the RA's who make life more of a living hell than anything else. Most RA's at the school are intensely political and show favoritism towards their residents, to the point of picking on certain residents for infractions that were never actually conducted.
If he could do it all over again my brother would have gone to NYU, and I can see why after visiting Manhattan College myself.
A: You make some good points. Location, location, location... its important to the lifestyle and environment of the university.
NYU is better if your looking for a more international environment and a livelier city life.
Q: closest neighborhoods to borough of manhattan community college?
so ive seen a couple of question like this but i have never been in new york and i wanted to know if anyone knows of some safe cities/neighborhoods that have a decent night life and approximately how much rent would be.
p.s. ive looked at some places like chelsea and soho, but please tell me if you know of other cities that are close to borough of manhattan community college and how the rent goes.
A: BMCC is actually in Tribeca. Closer parts are Battery Park, and Greenwich Village. I don't know how much rent goes for.
Q: What do you think of Marymount Manhattan College?
I am going to visit MMC tomorrow and going to take part in an Instant Decision day. I love New York, but NYU is way too expensive for me! I like how MMC is located in the Upper East side, rather than Greenwhich Village, but what is it like? Do students like it? What is the Communication Disorders program like?
A: i think that it's reputable. even so, check it out with other people who have been there.
Q: Is Marymount Manhattan College hard to get into?
I'm applying there, but my SAT scores are kinda low. I was wondering is it a hard school to get into?
A: No -- it isn't hard to get into.
ABout 3/4 of those who apply get in. Average SAT scores are about 1050/1600. More than half the students admitted have a GPA below 3.25 -- with 37% having a GPA below 3.0.
Q: Which college in your opinion is better Manhattan College or St Thomas Aquinas College?
WHich one do you prefer I go too they both offer the same amount of major, but Manhattan is a little bit more expensive.
A: Are you sure you are ready for college?? You might want to check what you wrote.
However, only you can decide!
Q: What is the distance from manhattan College, N/Y to Amtrak penn station, N/Y??..How long does it take too?
How long does it take to travel the distance? Can it be covered in 45 minutes to one hour????
A: Probably, but just in case try www.hopstop.com
Q: Does anyone know anything about Manhattan College?
I went to go visit Manhattan College yesterday and fell in love with it...
Does anyone have any opinions on it? Positive or negative please...
A: www.delhishiksha.com
Q: Which college is better and why? Stevens Institute of Technology, Manhattan College, or Seton Hall?
I've been accepted to all three as well as others but those are my top choices. I've only visited Steven's and I believe it to be the most prestigious so I'm leaning towards it but I'd like other people's opinion.
My intended major by the way is Mechanical Engineering
A: Engineering your goal of course Stevens is the best choice.
Its reputation alone will assure you a great job upon graduation. Good Luck
Q: is it hard to get into Manhattan College?
Is that still a good school, or has the nibiorhood changed? Is it really hard to get into? like what should you get on your SAT/ACT to be attmitted?
A: I dont know anything about how hard it is to get into, although judging from the people i know that went there, i doubt the sat score is hard to achive. The neighborhood is fine, its kind of a pocket of its own around the school thats seprerate from the neighborhood anyhow.
Q: What is the lowest high school GPA you can have to be accepted to Manhattan College?
A: I haven't heard of too many colleges that actually state what their low cutoff is - perhaps some state universities have to do that. Manhattan College is not a state school - it is connected to the Catholic church. And, it is a very respectable school, so I would guess that if you don't have a B average, you are going to have a tough time getting in. On theire website they don't seem to list any miimum GPA except for the GPA for transfer students coming from another college (2.5) and they say that even a GED can be accepted under certain circumstances......
If you have a lower average you should do your application the best you can, and try to get an interview so that you can convince them that you are a serious student. Good luck.
Q: Is the lower manhattan Berkely College difficult to get into?
It is a branch of Berkely it is a 2 yr. college. I would be going for business administration. My high school college program says that it is minimally difficult to get into. Is this true?
A: Really Easy, and i think you'll have the time of your life.
Q: Aspiring Fashion Designer in manhattan going to college?
I want to go to FIT in Manhattan to become a fashion designer. FIT is the Fashion Institute of Technology. I was wondering, I know tuition and and living in dorms will be very expensive but how do others make money besides financial aid?
A: you could try and get a side job. Since you want to get into fashion you could try to work at designer's studio where you could put your education to use and still make some cash. You could also get a job at a designer store to take in some of the new and up coming fashion designs.
hope this helps:)
