Q: Florida colleges?
What florida colleges can a junior get into with a 3.2 unweighted gpa and a weighted 3.8 gpa. Lots of service hours and a good SAT score. Taking honors and AP courses.
A: The top schools in Florida (in order)
Public:
1. University of Florida (Gainsville)
2. University of Central Florida (Orlando)
3. Florida State University (Tallahassee)
4. University of South Florida (Tampa)
5. Florida International University (Miami)
Private:
1. University of Miami (Miami)
2. Rollins College (Winter Park/ Orlando
3. Nova Southeastern University (Ft. Lauderdale)
This link shows you where each public school is located and can direct you to each school's website.
http://www.fldcu.org/univ_info/flcollege...
From your information..(it is hard to say with certainty because you didnt give much information), You would be accepted to all of the florida public universites, with the exception of the University of Florida,(you might get in, if your SATs are very high, although your GPA is relatively low, the service hours are a big plus, though). For the top private colleges, you would be accepted at all of them except, U. of Miami, it is almost as selective as UF (see above).
Email me if you have any questions.
Q: What public Florida colleges or universities offer online degree?
So far the only one I've found is Florida Community College at Jacksonville. And they only offer a few associate degree programs.
A: Then you didn't look very hard.

Q: Good Florida colleges that are easy to get into?
I graduated in 2006 with decent grades, but I'm no honor student. I applied to University of Central Florida, but was declined and told that I need to go to a Florida junior college before they would accept me. Any suggestions? I'm looking for a school with lots of people.
Ranto. You are an elitist douche bag. Enjoy the smell of your own farts. Let me just reiterate that I'm no looking for ivy league or anything. I am fine with a state school.
A: Florida Southern College
Florida College
Q: What is the difficulty for getting accepted to florida colleges?
In specific University of Central Florida, Florida state, u of florida for student from boston graduating from high school in 2008. My high school gpa is 3.3 but i read on collegeboard.com that those schools accept about 7-15 percent out of state so common sense tells me that the out of state students must be top students. Like 3.6+gpa
A: Don't listen to "Sharp with.." Florida colleges, especially FSU and UF, rank among the tops in the nation in many programs. If you take the expensive private universities (Harvard, Yale, etc.) out of the equation they seem even higher.
My suggestion is to apply to a couple that you might like to go to. I think the application fee might still be $20 or so. Worst case scenario is you don't get in.
The reason it is hard to get in is because they are state universities and try to cater to their own residents first.
Q: Any experience with these colleges in Florida?
I am attending community college in Florida, having moved here in the last year from New York. I will be done getting my AA in May, and attend on transfering within the state and studying Elementary Education, and eventually getting my Masters. However, I have not heard a lot about the reputations of any of the private schools in Florida. These are the schools I am considering:
*Flagler College
*Barry University
*Lynn University
*Rollins College
*Florida Southern College
*University of Tampa
I would love to hear first hand accounts from anyone who has attended these schools. Any information in general would be useful. I am hoping to narrow this list down to three schools. Also, if you have any information about other schools in Florida, public or private, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! :)
Thanks for the info on Flagler. I heard it was very beautiful. I have heard a lot about UF, thats the only college I ever hear anyone talking about actually. Thats why I posted this question for more information on other places, since UF is so popular and so frequently talked about
A: University of Florida Gainesville is, of course, the powerhouse in Florida. I have heard of some of these other schools, but can't speak to them. However, I've been on the Flagler campus several times. You should visit, if only to see it, because it's stunning. It's in an old hotel, and it has Tiffany windows, it overlooks the ocean and the Bridge of Lions in St. Augustine, and just... wow. As for its academics, it's fine - not the best, far from the worst. It's been rated as one of America's best value colleges by US News & World Report.
Q: Anyone know of any Florida colleges and/or universities that operate on the quarter system?
I prefer to know of public state universities. I have been to most of the university websites and it looks like everyone is on semesters but if anyone has any info I would appreciate it.
A: I know of no Florida college that uses the quarter system.
Q: What are the foreign language requirements for Florida colleges?

A: You can see the entrance requirements by going to the admissions section of any college that you are interested in...
Here's the sites for:
UCF: http://www.ucf.edu/admissions/
University of Florida: http://www.ufl.edu/admissions/

Q: what are some good colleges in Florida?
I want to apply to colleges in florida, can you please give me the names of a few really good ones and some average ones?
A: FAMU...the best!
Q: Are Florida Hospital College of Health Sciences and Nova Southeastern University legitamite colleges?
I was wondering how easy it would be to get a job with those 2 colleges in my resume rather than a normal university here in Florida or in another state?
A: check it out for yourself
http://www.fhchs.edu/about/accreditation
any college you attend through distance learning or others, it is a very good idea that you check out their accreditation. there are many accrediting organizations and schools that are fake out there. if you are ever in question, go to ed.gov, that is the department of education's website. you can look at any school that is accredited (approved) by them and also the distance education training council.
schools that are not accredited, especially for medical purposes aren't worth your time because no employer will take you seriously.
usually any school that is licensed to offer C.E.U.s continuing education units is licensed by the department of education. stay away from diploma mills and schools that say, 'pay $10,000 for your B.S.' no degree will ever be listed as a flat fee, it will always be listed as per credit hour.
any school that is accredited by the department of education or any other professional/regional accrediting organization is legitimate.
since you already have your degrees, employment factors would depend heavily on your resume and experience. if you got a degree in xxxx but sucked at it, it will show up. however, if you have a degree in xxxx and do well at it, you're more likely to get hired.
gpa, professor recommendations, positive word from internship supervisors, etc. have more to do with you getting a job than if you attended harvard or yale. you can attend any school but if your grades are poor, you're more likely going to get less call backs and offers than thos who are good.
if you graduated with a good gpa, did well in the classes that focus on your major/cluster, have good letters of reference from your instructors, etc. you should do fine. charisma has a lot to do with it too. if you are confident, you will go much further in an interview than without it.
also, since your question is about your resume, go back to your college and have them help you write out a resume. sometimes how we write our resume is the first indication of whether or not we are going to get the job.
say for example, you studied to be an x-ray tech but misspelled radiology.. they may not hire you.
Good luck!!

Q: Bringing husband to college housing (are there any colleges in Florida that allow this?)?
If I go to a college in Florida, and I want to bring my husband from Europe, how would this work out? Are there any colleges in Florida that have married housing without both husband and wife attendidng the school? I would be the only one attending.
Thanks!
A: I don't know specifically about any schools in Florida, but at any school whose policies I've actually looked into, only one spouse has to be a student in order to live in married housing. So it shouldn't be a problem.
