Q: Any good jobs that pay more than 10 in dallas College student?
Im a college student, and I need to pay for gas and my credit card, classes , my actual job pays me 7 75 which i think is not sufficient. I am bilingual...
A: customer service type jobs are always looking for bilingual people
red lobster, chilis and sonic are just a few student friendly places for serving food & easily would add up to more than 10
Q: What is the minimum SAT score needed to get into Brookhaven community college in Dallas?
Or any community college in Dallas. This is a high school senior who might apply there for a year before getting into a better school.
A: community college lets everyone in. So don't worry about that, only state schools and other schools have standards.
Q: Where should a young person out of college live, Dallas, Jacksonville, or Atlanta?
I am in my mid 20's and just graduated college with an engineering degree. Finding a job should not be a problem. I enjoy outdoors, particularly near water. Can anyone give me a good insight into these three cities; especially for young people. Thanks.
A: Atlanta. That city is sprawling so fast that within 10 years the suburbs will reach Western NC (where I live). We have some of the best kayaking, great bike and hiking trails and beautiful scenery you can find in the USA. Fact!
Q: What is the best route from Dallas to College Station?
Is it quicker to take I-35 to SH 6 or I-45 to SH 21?
A: Based on the map and my past driving trips to and from there, taking I-45 is the best route. Here is what google says though.
1. Head east on Young St toward Evergreen St
2. Turn right at S St Paul St
3. Turn left to merge onto I-45 S
4. Take exit 152 toward TX-OSR/Normangee
5. Turn left at I-45 S
6. Turn right at County Line Rd/Old San Antonio Rd/TX-OSR
7. Turn left at FM-39
8. Take the US-190 ramp
9. Turn right at US-190
10. Turn left at N Earl Rudder Fwy/N TX-6
11. Take the ramp on the left onto N Earl Rudder Fwy/TX-6
12. Take the FM-60 exit toward University Dr/Texas A&M
13. Merge onto S Earl Rudder Fwy
14. Turn right at University Dr E
15. Turn left at Lincoln Ave
16. Turn left at Texas Ave S
Q: Where can I find an English school for adults or college level students in Dallas?
Where can I find an English school for adults or college level students in Dallas? This is for non native speakers.Do you have any links or homepages?
thanks in advanced
A: I can give you some links to follow:
http://www.eslgold.com/texas.html
This one gives a list of schools, colleges, universities that offer ESL programmes in Texas.
http://www.unt.edu/unt-dallas/bieslscholar.htm
This one offers a Bilingual/ESL Education Program Scholarship (to qualified applicants) at the Uni. of North Texas.
And this one at meetup.com

offers what appear to be a couple of free ESL meet-up sessions.
Hope this helps.
Q: college in dallas? trying to make decision about area? nice?
I'm in between two art schools that both offer what i want, and I'm really seriously thinking about Dallas. Those of you who have been there or live there, can you tell describe? Would it be a good college environment, and if you could just describe the city in general. I'm planning a visit sometime way later in the year and I'm not sure if it will happen, but It would be nice to know some facts... thanks
A: Taken as a whole, I would give the biased opinion that the Dallas Metroplex is one of the top 5 cities in the country. Good culture, good food, cheap cost of living, and seems to be thriving economically as well. It has plenty of things to do at night and on the weekends, and is warm during the winter months while you'd be here for school.
the negatives would be traffic and heat during the summer months.
Q: Should Wade Philips be forced to take a course in Probability and Statistics at Dallas Community College?
ok i have to add details because people arent understanding why i ask this...
dallas twice kicked FGs from deep inside patriots territory when trailing by 2 tds, this against the most prolific offensive team in the league...
having a knack for probability, a person would be able to extrapolate that the patriots were not finished scoring and that answering touchdowns with FGs would not get it done... he conceded the game when he kicked that final FG...
A: While we're at it, how about classes in:
- why you shouldn't have benched Doug Flutie in 1999
- why the 3-4 defense sucks and reasons to NOT run it
- why you destroy your credibility by working with Marty
- why no sane person should hire you to coach anywhere
Q: what are some fun places to go in dallas for college students?
i know of deep elm clubs, and partys, but what else?
A: I know that college students are low on money alot but Dallas has more shopping per capita than any other city in the United States. So, I would recommend a mall. But if you are low on money, I agree with the answerer above. The Dallas Aquarium is very pretty and has a lot of creatures. I would also recommend going to visit Southfork Ranch (You probably, as well as I, were not around when Dallas was aired), The Dallas Arboretum, 6th Floor Museum, etc. There are a lot of things to do in Dallas, you just have to ask around. God Bless!*
Q: Homeless, Enrolled in College Dallas TX(prepaid) took my max leave time still homeless what should I do?
I am currently as student in school, I prepaid due to the obligations of the program. I took a leave to try and get the financial means together to get a place to live. Im still homeless and my life has gone no where. Does anyone know of any resources or advice for my situation?
A: Why don't you talk tot he financial aid people at the school and see if they can help you with a work//study or more financial aid to pay for your room and board. If they can't they may be able to refer you to a social service that can. You could also rent a room from someone rather than get a apartment. There are a lot of people looking for room mates.
Q: Where should a college grad live, , Dallas, Jacksonville, or Atlanta?
I am in my mid 20's and just graduated college with an engineering degree. Finding a job should not be a problem. I enjoy outdoors, particularly near water. Can anyone give me a good insight into these three cities; especially for young people. Thanks.
A: Atlanta. That city is sprawling so fast that within 10 years the suburbs will reach Western NC (where I live). We have some of the best kayaking, great bike and hiking trails and beautiful scenery you can find in the USA. Did I forget to mention Lake Fontana? Gorgeous. There are also other lakes North of Atlanta in GA that will provide your fishing, skiing or boating needs.
Western NC (Cherokee) is tripling the size of their Casino (Harrah's) by 2012. Pidgeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Sevierville (all in TN) are just an hours drive beyond that. Maybe you should check out Asheville, NC if you love living in rural areas but love being near a City.
Be sure to live somewhere North of Duluth or the traffic will kill you.
Q: Question about the Dallas County Community College District?
I doubt many who read this know what Im talking about, but for those who do...I have been placed on Academic Probation because I have not paid in full for my classes like requested by the college. After I pay the balances, will I be allowed to register for summer classes?
A: You should be able to, but you better go in person to one of their campuses because they are impossible to deal with. I can't even get them to mail me a transcript. The people who work in that office are lazy and disorganized. I wish you the best of luck in this, but you better go in person, pay cash, and demand to register for summer classes.
Q: I'm a recent college grad & thinking about moving to Dallas. What are some nice and affordable areas 2 n stay?
I'm a recent college grad and I want to move to Dallas. I would like some recommendation on areas that are nice and affordable. I would like some info. on how Dallas is divided. Also, what cities outside of Dallas would you recommend.
A: I'm a junior in college and did a summer internship in Dallas last summer. I lived downtown and it was alright. Very expensive (I paid $900 for a very nice one bedroom). It was close to many cultural things, the farmers market, and night life. I wouldn't recommend living downtown though unless you are working in the area.
If I lived there again I would live near Lower Greenville. A lot of young people live in the area and there are many clubs and bars in the area. Its also kinda scensterish. There are many resale shops, older homes, Whole Foods, etc in the area. It is also actually IN THE CITY LIMITS so you are close to many things. Your going to find out that the actual city of Dallas is kinda small and really its this huge cluster of other little cities.
If it is possible, I would run down to Dallas and check it out first or get a very short term sublet at first so you haven't committed to a part of the city you hate. The Camden downtown near the farmers market offers 3 month leases.
Q: I went to dallas community college 15 years ago.I would like to get my scores and credits from brookhaven. ?
Are my credits still good or do I have to start over? I was taking courses to become a nurse.
A: Some colleges and universities have limitations on the length of time you can pursue a degree. Check with Brookhaven to find out if they will accept your credits from Dallas Community College.
Sometimes as curriculum changes or courses changes, whether or not transfer credits are accepted vary. If the coursework you took from Dallas Community College is equivalent to Brookhaven's requirements, they may accept your transfer credit.
Best wishes!

Q: Where is a good place to buy furniture in the Dallas area for my son's college apartment?
My son is moving into on campus apartments at University of Texas at Dallas. They are unfurnished and would like to find a place to buy or rent furniture fairly cheap.
A: Google 'second hand furniture shops dallas'
You can find a lot of really decent bargains in these.
