Q: How can I specifically search for STATE colleges/universities within a state, for example Georgia?
I am moving to Georgia (tuition is FREE with a B average at state universities), and I need to search for only state colleges/universities within this state, so that I can take this list and do research that will ultimately help me in selecting a school. Also, I thought all state colleges were supposed to have STATE on their name. Is this accurate? Thanks for all your help!
I have searched with Google for hours. How do I know for sure that these are State universities? Is there a specific site that can add this detail to the search?
A: Visit this website: www.usg.edu. It is the website for the University System of Georgia. It lists all public colleges and universities in the state and has links to the individual schools' websites.
And no, all state universities do not have to have the word "State" in their names. In Georgia for example, Georgia Institute of Technology, Gordon College and Georgia Southern University are all public/state schools.
Also, make sure you visit www.gsfc.org for information on the HOPE Scholarship you mentioned. I'm sure you have to be a Georgia resident for at least a year before you can take advantage of it.
Good luck!
Q: What colleges/universities in Georgia have to best pre-med programs?

1. Emory University
2. Georgia Tech
3. University of Georgia
Q: What college did Georgia Byng attend?
I was wondering what college Georgia Byng, the author, attend. I was also wondering what type of interesting things happened in her childhood, does she have a spouse, what was her job before she became an author ( if she had one ), did she always wat to be an author or did she have the passions for another career, and what was her one book that was a best seller....? Thanks for your help if you can answer any of these questions. And if your answering, I suggest you repeat the question that your answering so I don't get messed up! Thanks!
A: me too I have that problem!
Q: what is are some good colleges for architecture in georgia,or the surrounding states?
please help me!
p.s- sorry the "is" was a typo.
A: Georgia Tech has a large and cutting edge architecture program.
(oh, and AHOLE should take some spelling "coarses." Come on.)
Q: Does anyone know of any colleges in georgia that have a baking and pastry arts program?
I already know of the art institutes and le cordon bleu
A: Have you looked into the technical colleges? I know Savannah Technical College has some type of cooking program; sorry I don't know the details;
Q: What is the best college in Georgia to attend if you are pursuing a 3d animation/modelling degree?
I live in atlanta,GA and wanted to go to a college that offers a degree in 3d animation but most of the colleges i have seen don't have much of a campus and i want to at least go to a college with Greek chapters and different types of organizations.
what college in georgia would be best to attend in hopes of getting a good education and also a "fun" campus life?
A: I'll let you figure out if these qualify in terms of campus life but they have good programs in 3D animation.
There is Savannah College which has a visual effects programs and a game development program.

You also have AIU Buckhead with similar programs. Probably less 3D oriented for animation but less technical for game design:

A: Information about Georgia is below.
Q: what are some good colleges in georgia that have degrees in dance?
A: The Dance Magazine College Guide lists 11 college dance programs in Georgia:
Bainbridge College
Berry College
Brenau University
Columbia State University
Emory University
Georgia Southwestern College
Georgia State University
Spelman College
University of Georgia
Wesleyan College
West Georgia College
The list may not be complete because the Guide has been known to leave a couple of programs out. However, I looked up The Art Institute of Atlanta and Savannah College of Art and Design and they do NOT have a dance program. Savannah's "Performing Arts" program is essentially a theatre program.
Of the 11 programs listed above, only Brenau University and University of Georgia offer BFA degrees as compared to BA or BS degrees. If you're aiming for a performing career, the BFA is the better degree to pursue. But none of these programs have a national reputation, so I don't know anything about them except what is written in the Guide. I recommend you get a copy for yourself:
http://www.dancemagazine.com/collegeguide/intro
Then get busy visiting some colleges in your area by seeing their shows.
P.S. It's not true that any art college is going to have a dance program, much less a performing arts program.

A: Definitely look into Savannah College of Art and Design.

Q: does anyone know any good theatre colleges in Atlanta, Georgia?
and at all would help! i've heard about very little.
A: The closest GOOD theatre college is in Winston-Salem, NC. The North Carolina School of the Arts. Not anything compares in Atlanta
Q: What are some good colleges in Atlanta, Georgia that has at least a BACHELOR DEGREE?
A: Good colleges for what?
There's GA Tech, they're a great science/engineering school, but if that's not your thing then... you're kind of out of luck. They do have a management program though. They're in Midtown.
There's also SCAD Atlanta, which i'm not 100% sure offers bachelor degrees--but it is an art program if that's what you're looking for. They're in Midtown.
There's Georgia State University, not AMAZING but they are a decent school, and they're located downtown.
There's Oglethorpe, it's private but it's a good school. It's north of the city, near Dunwoody.
Spelman and Morehouse are HBCUs, but they're good. They're near downtown, to the south.
Clark Atlanta and Morris Brown are also downtown but I can't vouch for their quality, I don't know much (if anything) about them. And there are many more "colleges"... but as far as bachelor's degrees, who knows?
Good luck and best wishes!
