Q: What college classes do I need to at least get a start in video game designing?
I live in Tennessee and I want to become a video game designer. The problem is only school in Tennessee that teaches game design is one of the two most expensive. And the next nearest one is in Georgia. But there are schools that teach graphic design and animation. Will classes like those at least get me into the video game design business? I am planing on moving to California or New York to enter the business but don't want to move till i'm out of college.

A: First, video game programs are pretty much the "hot" thing to do these days and almost every community college to vocational school will offer something, but, that means that the field is going to flooded with applicants. So, if I were you, I'd get the best degree I could from a four year college. Another thing. If you want to create something like Pac-Man, Legend of Zelda or any of those other really old games, then all you really need to learn is basic programming skills. If you want to get into the ultra realistic 3-D gaming, then you got to keep one thing in mind-these games employ anywhere between 20 to 100 people-all doing different jobs, so you would need to specialize in one particular aspect. You will, or should at least, learn graphic design and animation (a good gaming program will teach these). Depending on what particular aspect of game design you want to contribute to, you will also need to know: 3-D modeling/animation Computer programing in at least two languages Not required but essential-a screenwriting, creative writing, or media writing course Math-at least through Trig, but preferably Calculus 1 At least one video or media production course Just keep in mind that this field has been hot for the last couple of years. The more education you have in science/technology, the more of an edge you'll have over every one else. Plus you'll make more money, as well.

Q: What college classes do I need to take in order to become a Spanish teacher?
I'm already fluent in Spanish. So I'm thinking of becoming a Spanish teacher but I don't know what classes I need to take in college. Help? Also. How many years of college do I need? I think it's 4 but I'm not sure.

A: To be a Spanish teacher in a public school, you need to be certified fo teach Spanish for your appropriate grade level. You must have a degree in Spanish, with a transcript reflecting a major in spanish, or equivalent. You next need to become certified to teach. After you receive your bachelor's degree you will need to apply to an education program to become certified and highly qualified. This may include obtaining a separate Master's or second bachelor's in Education, and various teacher preparation tests and the Praxis (II, I think). For a private school, you usually still need at least a major in Spanish. Even if you are a native speaker in the language, you can take the CLEP exam and receive credit for the first 2 (beginner and intermediate) years, but you will have to take actually take the remainder of Spanish classes to finish your degree along with the general studies component. depending on many factors, it usually takes 4 years, but some people do finish in 3 or 3.5. To teach at the junior college/university level, you will need a Master's in Spanish or at least a graduate degree in another field with 18 hours of Spanish at the graduate level. Universities usually require the Ph.D. in Spanish. Being fluent in Spanish is great, but it is much easier to obtain the job if you are certified or have teaching experience.

Q: What college classes do you need to take to be a school teacher?
I'm going to college this year and so far I'm just taking education classes and calculus. Do you need any other classes to actually become a teacher?

A: There are guidance counselors at the universities. Make an appointment when you enroll. That person will develop a four year plan for becoming a teacher. That way, you won't take and pay for some classes you don't even need. You could also get the same info from the university's on line site. Good luck.

Q: How do I transfer college classes to my high shool transcript?
Im currently a high school student taking college classes and want to transfer them to my High School Transcript. How Do I do that? well, the college is CRC I think my school does have dual credit

A: Does your high school and this college have some sort of partnership (i.e. dual credit, etc.)? Or, did you do this outside of your high school? If it is the first one, then it has been my experience that your high school transcript will only indicate that you took classes at the college level, but will not list anything other than that. If the second, well your high school transcript isn't going to indicate anything at all. Two separate instutitions and probably on different grading systems. In regards to college admissions, people have to request transcripts from both schools to be sent.

Q: What college classes will help me become a paranormal investigator?

Q: What college classes do you need to take to be a pediatrician?
i have so many questions still in high school but when i graduate im going to a community college for 1 year. i will transfer to a 4 year university for only 2 years because i want to graduate early. i want to graduate college in 3 years. if i transfer to a 4 year university will they ask me for my SAT scores and my high school grades, or will they only ask me for my community college grades, what classes should i take if i want to become a pediatrician. how many classes should i take if i want to graduate early.

A: Yes, you will have to give the university your high school transcripts and SAT scores. If you're planning to transfer after one year, you won't have any grades from community college when you apply to transfer, so they'll based their decision on your high school records. You'll have to take summer classes and extra classes during the year to finish 4 year's worth of credits in 3 years. Then you've got 4 years of medical school, and 3 years of residency.

Q: What classes should i take in college to become a plastic surgeon?
I want to become a Plastic Surgeon but I dont have a clue on what college classes i should take.

A: You'll need a Pre-med major for your bachelors degree, then go onto Medical school. From there, you have residency. Either in med school or during your residency you will pick which field of medicine you want to go into. Many plastic surgeons are by trade general surgeons, but they choose to go into private practice in a plastics office.

Q: What type of classes would a compuetr software engineer have to take in college?
what is the basic curriculum.oh, and when you are in college is it nessecary to take a major and a minor? can anyone tell me how college classes go? Thanx for the heads up. Um okay can anyone tell me about any other jobs similar to it...that involeve little math as possible. Thank you!

A: Are you sure you want to be a software engineer? Or would you rather be a computer programmer? Or a computer engineer? Normally, Algrebra, Trig, pre-calculus, and one other type of math. Either physics or chemistry--some hard science like that. Depending one your flavor of concentration, Accounting or Business Administration courses. My minor was accounting so I had several including Tax Accounting. Also, general requirements such as English (writing), History, Psychology, Health, Philosophy, and Phys Ed. Then you get into electives which can be anything; from Sewing to Artificial Intelligence. Obviously, you'll have your core classes -- again they depend on your concentration. Computer Architecture, Operating Systems, Programming Languages, Databases, Structured Programming, etc. Then you'll have your computer electives such as Real Time programming, Web Design, Artificial Intelligence, Natureal Language Processing, Computer Graphics, etc. It is not necessary to have a minor but it is a huge waste of money to not have a major. If you don't, you'll get a useless degree like "General Studies" which tells your future employer that you are a stupid and useless lout and he's better off hiring Juan Valdez or his coffee-bean-pickin' mule. If you get a minor, it allows you access to some classes that need Advisor or Instructor approval to get into. Since the classes start out easy, by your senior year the hard classes aren't so hard after all. Attendance is optional if you can keep up with the assigments and tests. There were 2 or 3 classes I forgot I was taking because I didn't need to show up.
