What are the best colleges in england, uk?
A: Oxford and Cambridge.
Q: What are the best colleges to attend if you want to major in economics?
I am coming from a community college and want to transfer to a four-year college with a major in economics. I want to know which colleges are best known for their economic program? What is the best University of California campus for economics? What about the best private university?
A: The best UC schools for econ would be UC Berkeley and UCLA, with Davis a close third.
Other great universities for economics: Amherst, Babson, Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, George Washington, Northwestern U, Rice, UNC Chapel Hill, Williams...
Q: What colleges offer the best study abroad programs?
I'd like to pursue a degree in international studies and languages, and am very interested in studying abroad. What colleges, particularly in New York state, offer the best study abroad programs?
PS: I am interested in Study Abroad programs that offer financial aid as well.
A: I'm not sure with colleges offer the best program. But there are programs not affliated with schools that you can still get school credit for. Such as Studiesabroad.com, which is the one I used this summer when I went to Costa Rica. If you have any more Qs, email me and I'll be glad to answer them.
Q: What are the best colleges for psychology?
I am wanting to go into psychology, and I am looking for a list of the best colleges to check into for that major. Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!
A: Umm, all accredited colleges.
Uhh, hon, it really doesn't matter what college grants you a Psychology degree as long as the college is accredited. Psychology and sociology degrees are soft degrees. You can get them from any college, and it won't matter. A Masters in Psychology is more valuable because it's required to be considered a clinical psychologist.
Q: How do i find out which colleges are the best for performing arts?
I live in the Uk. I want to study performing arts, preferably Music and acting but i am not sure on which colleges are the best for my interests.
A: The most important way to find out about colleges are not from the interent, not from letters, not from brochures, but by VISITING THEM! Go take a look at the college. Talk to the students, talk to the professors, to recruiters from the college. Take the day and spend it on the campus. If you can get into a tour group, do it! You have to experience it first-hand. I know so many people who are unhappy with their college because they didn't go see and experience the college. So go see the campus. That's how you really know. Good luck!
Q: What Are The Best Performing Arts Colleges For Music All Over The World?
I am currently looking at going to school for music but I have no clue of any colleges besides Julie Ard for that. I also am looking at schools for theatre which is performing arts too. I am pretty much looking at schoools in the U.S. and in Italy but I am also looking for schools that are the best around the world. Please help me.
A: Juilliard, NYU, and Eastman are great music schools in NYC.
Cincinnati Conservatory of Music is great for theatre and musical theatre.
Carnegie Mellon is in Pennsylvania, very good program.
Indiana University is a great opera school, so is the University of North Texas.
Northwestern is a strong theatre program just north of Chicago.
UCLA has a pretty good music program.
AMDA is a scam.... they allow some really shitty people in.

I was just wondering what colleges are the best in the United States for chemistry. I have thought of being a chemist for a while and decided thats what I would like to do. If I can get a link or a list of the best colleges for chemistry that be great. Thank you!

Q: What colleges in the US has the best nursing program?
I am about to get ready to leave high school and start my life as an adult, I am planning on being a nurse, but with so many choices, i don't know what to do first. I feel so lost and confused. And I really need help on which colleges in the US offer the best nursing program. PLEASE HELP ME!!
A: check out www.usnews.com

Q: What are the best colleges/universities to go for a major in journalism?
I want to major in journalism when I go to college, but I'm wondering what colleges have the best facilities/staff/training for the journalism major so I can get the best education possible?
A: Columbia and UC Berkeley both have great journalism programs, but they're only for master's students.
Some of the best undergrad programs are Northwestern (Medill), USC (Annenberg), and Mizzou. Syracuse (Newhouse) and ASU (Cronkite) as very good as well.
It's important to remember that it's not necessary to get a journalism degree to work as a journalist. It's much more important to be involved in student publications, and to have internships and clips. You should choose your college based on other factors besides its journalism program, such as how comfortable you feel there - it doesn't matter how good the school is if it's not right for you. However, schools like the above can be fantastic resources and networking opportunities, especially in a job market like the current one.
Best of luck in your college search!
Q: What are some of the best colleges to go to?
I have no clue of what colleges I should apply to do yall have any suggestions on the best colleges. No matter what price i just would like to know. Please any help?
A: well it depends, in what area your talking about. area being what you'd like to be, where you live, if you want to travel etc. it also depends on how you define "best" . In general the ivy league schools(harvard, yale, brown, cornell etc.) of course, if you're talking about general education and top ratings. I think there is only one person who can answer your question and that is you. You can get other people's opinions, but you may want to be a bit more specific.
Q: What are the best colleges for screenwriting in the United States?
I want to be a screenwriter and was wondering what the best colleges for that are.
A: UCLA, USC and NYU Tisch. Besides being excellent schools, they have lots of connections in the entertainment industry.
Others would be Chapman University (Orange, CA), Loyola Marymount and Boston University. There are also screenwriting programs at Florida State U, North Carolina School of Arts, University of Miami, University of Texas and elsewhere.
If you can't get into any of those schools, there are many more opportunities out there. The most important thing is to find a program that works for you, that teaches in the best way for you. There are even good classes through community colleges.
And there are screenwriting schools out there -- like Writer's Boot Camp in Santa Monica, CA. They have a discussion rather than lecture style of teaching, which works well for a lot of writers.
In the meantime, I hope you're writing. Don't wait, there are lots of kids out there that are writing scripts from elementary school on. Go to a bookstore and browse through the screenwriting books to see which ones *talk to you*. Here is a start -
Screenwriting for Teens: The 100 Principles of Screenwriting Every Budding Writer Must Know by Christina Hamlett - Good for teens, and adults.
Filmmaking for Teens: Pulling Off Your Shorts by Troy Lanier and Clay Nichols - Best to understand how films are made to help your screenwriting.
The 101 Habits Of Highly Successful Screenwriters: Insider's Secrets from Hollywood's Top Writers by Karl Iglesias - Inspirational!
Writing Screenplays That Sell by Michael Hauge - A great book to start with.
The Screenwriter's Bible: A Complete Guide to Writing, Formatting, and Selling Your Script by David Trottier - Another really good guide.
Save The Cat! The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need by Blake Snyder - Very entertaining and instructional.
Classics you're going to have to read -
Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting by Syd Field
Lew Hunter's Screenwriting 434
Story: Substance, Structure, Style and The Principles of Screenwriting by Robert McKee
The Writers Journey: Mythic Structure for Writers by Christopher Vogler
Good luck!
Q: My husband wants to study English in college and wants to be an editor. What are the best colleges?
He just decided he wants to be an editor. I'm not sure whether he wants to be a book editor or work for a newspaper or what. What should he focus on in English? I know there are a few tracks he could go for such as Creative Writing, Literature and so on. Also what are some of the best colleges for English programs in the US? I'm not thinking Ivy League here.
A: University of Missouri- Columbia one of the best journalism/writing program - non Ivy
Ol Miss - has produced many great writers
and so on - as there are a lot of good schools -
No matter of what type of editor he wants to be - he will need a fair amount of technical writing and creative writing - he can develop good editing skills through with the schools newspaper of working in a writing lab
Q: What are the best clubs or extra curricular activities that look good for colleges?
What are the best clubs or extra curricular activities that look good for colleges? I have a 3.94 gpa and want an academic scholarship, what should i do?
A: Ones in which you can show your passion for what you are doing, and also in which you have attained a leadership position, or done something that shows initiative (run a conference, etc.). You should demonstrate through your essays how you came to pick these activities, and how they relate to your interests. If you can draw that to include how they helped you decide what to do for college, all the better. Don't lie and don't say what you think they want to hear--they've heard it all. Also say how you will contribute to the college you will be attending through the evidence of what you've already accomplished.
Q: What are some of the best colleges to study Tourism Management?
What are some of the best colleges to study Tourism Management, and how does SUNY Plattsburgh stack up?
A: Check into Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island, private university with impressive credentials. As far as stacking up against SUNY Plattsburgh, I do not know. Depends if you are in state, out of state, public vs. private.
